Am I saying the following sentences correctly in Spanish? If not, could you please correct me? Thank you!

"__name__ said that she needs to know"--->"__nombre__ dijo que ella necesita saber."

"If that is true/the truth then....": "Si eso es cierto/verdad entonces..."

"I don't care what you think..." "No me importa qué piensas."

Also, how do you say "you are mean." I know that "no simpatíco"-means not nice. Would mean be "malo" even though that means evil/bad?

I'm copyediting the Closed Captioning of a math video, to wit, the Spanish-translated text for a math video.

The translator wrote "computador" (without the "a" at the end), but the dictionary shows "ordenador"--which is used mainly in Spain, I think.

However, the video makers are catering to the Spanish-speaking students of the US and Caribbean. They have instructed us not to "overcorrect" with textbook "Spain-Spanish" terms. We have to use the regional words of Mexico, US-raised Spanish-speaking students from Puerto Rico, Dominican republic, etc. My cousins in México use "computadora." But is that what Puerto Ricans and Dominicans use predominantly too? I've never heard my cousins say "ordenador," nor did any of my Caribbean-Spanish speaking students in Boston (where the video is made) ever use that word. Any advice?

I had fun correcting "peas" in a video once--everybody had a different word for it. I wound up using the Spain-Spanish word "guisantes" for it!

Could someone proficient in Latin translate into that language the phrase "This, too, shall pass away"? The phrase has personal meaning and, as you know, uidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur. If there are multiple ways to render the phrase in Latin that are equally correct, I would appreciate knowing what they are, along with any subtle differences in the meaning.

I am writing a short note to my mother-in-law (who only speaks Spanish) and I just want to make sure everything sounds okay. I don't need the proper usage - she never uses that anyway - just the everyday way of saying things. Will this letter get the point across?

Funny thing - I asked my husband (her son) to translate a few of these words for me, and it's as if he's concentrated so much on English that he's forgotten his native language. He said this note sounded fine, but I wanted to make sure. You never want to fool around when dealing with the in-laws, right?

By the way, he's the one who told me to put "sientiendo". That doesn't sound right to me though. Let me know about that word.

Anyway, here it is:

"Aunque no somos tan intimos como yo quisiera, a mi me gusta sientiendo parte de esta familia, especialmente durante las fiestas. Yo siento muy afortunada a ser una nuera de una familia bien marivilliosa."

I sometimes stop by this Japanese store and I am always mistaken for Japanese (I am Cuban, Black, and Chinese); the cashier starts blabbing on-and-on in Japanese and I am sick of asking them to speak English. So, I decided that maybe I should learn some basic Japanese, like numbers or "hi" so that it can make my life (and the cashier's) easier.
