I sometimes stop by this Japanese store and I am always mistaken for Japanese (I am Cuban, Black, and Chinese); the cashier starts blabbing on-and-on in Japanese and I am sick of asking them to speak English. So, I decided that maybe I should learn some basic Japanese, like numbers or "hi" so that it can make my life (and the cashier's) easier.

If u hav a friend that could speak japanese around, then i think thats the fastest. Email might take 2 long 2 learn from that person, but chatting or phone would b good. If u dont hav a friend like that, I'm not sure there's anything that fast. I'm in a similar situation. I'm japanese, but people here in japan think im not sometimes, so they're always like, "OMG! a American!" And they start trying 2 speak in bad english, and I'm trying 2 show them i could speak japanese. except its everywhere instead of 1 store. but, wats the use of telin my lifes story 2 u? So, ike i said in the bginning, try a friend. Or, maybe I could teach u! だけど、そんなことなんかできないよね。。。
