I am already studying Spanish at school and I would like to teach myself other languages such as; French, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Italian. Does anyone know of any good computer programs that teach these languages? I've heard of Rosetta Stone, is it good?

...Does sign language translate from language to language? You won't be able to use the English-speaking alphabet universally b/c everyone doesn't speak English. Does Japanese, Spanish, and the world at large have their own sign language?

ok i got this:
I chose Thalia as my person. She was born on August 26, 1972. She is the youngest out of 5 children. She was a tomboy when she was a little kid. Her feminine side kicked in when she enrolled in Classical Ballet. She grew up to be an actress and singer.

now heres that paragraph in spanish..but idk if its correct.

Escogí Thalia como mi persona. Ella nacía en el 26 de agosto de 1972. Ella es el más joven fuera de 5 niños. Ella era una muchachota cuando ella era un niño pequeño. Su lado femenino pateó en cuando ella se matriculó en el Ballet Clásico. Ella creció para ser una actriz y el cantante.

can someone tell me if its correct? or if i need nething to change to make it correct...thx

Does anyone know any good DVD's or books to teach ASL fast? I took some classes at my college, but it was a while ago and they won't let me retake them even though I passed, and I haven't been able to practice much so a lot of what I learned has been lost. Any suggestions?

Hi!

I need to find a word for "animation" (French word) in English.

I don't know how to call a person who works with kids and teenagers in summer camps or in YMCAs or things like that. I found "youth coordinator", but I don't know if that's the right term, and don't know if they use different terms in British English or in American English.

Actually, I need the name of the activity. I found "youth coordination", but it doesn't really seem to apply to what I'm looking for.

Can you also say if you're Am. or Engl., as it may not be the same word.

Thank you.

I am not sure if its origin is Russian, German, Slovak?

I have looked all over the net and all the translators wont tell me what it is. Some blog references referred it to Devil. I used to think it was an affirmative responce, like yes sir, that the German Nazi's used in WWII.

Can anyone help? 10 points to the best answer!

We just had the question about English accents and heard responses about French, Irish, and others. How about American accents? Do you like southern, New England, New Yawk, or the standard American accent?

tell someone that he's gay. And I don't mean it in a serious way, but more of a derogatory and insulting way. And please use correct French idioms and not only a computer translations. The message I am trying to say is : "Straight!? You couldn't be more gay if you tried!" Just so you know this is an inside joke, not an insult to homosexual people.

I have no problem with a statement like "I don't know where to go in Seville" but for me adding a question mark to the the end of a sentence ending in a "to infinitve" is a no-no. So I would always prefer to ask "How do I get started?" and not "How to get started?" The latter seems to come from non-native learners of english getting confused when they hear "Where d'y go?" as "Where to go?"
Is it just me who whinces when seeing this kind of auxiliary-less object question? It crops up in electronics manuals and sub-literate web pages all the time. Non?
