It does not translate word for word at all. But the essence is there.
(there should be accents on both e of pede and of hetero)

This is probably the most neutral translation.
All other terms and slang translations of "gay" such as pede, tapette, tarlouze, tantouze, folle, pedale, etc could be easily construed as insulting to a stranger but probably OK if you're saying this to a good friend of yours who doesn't get offended easily.

We use the same word as you: "gay".

slang québécois for gay would be 'tapette' or 'fif' or 'gai'. we also have a hand sign for it. it is to delicately wap ur hand from up to down one time.
so.. for your translation you could say : toi? aux femmes? (if saying this to a male). Tu ne pourrais pas être plus fif même si tu essayerais.
