In 885 AD, the Danes invaded Paris. Although they couldn’t occupied Paris, they had forced the France king to admit their leader Rollos as the duke. And they also took control of a large terrority in Northern France. This area was called Nomandy. Later more and more Vikings settled here.
The Normandy duchy became more and more powerful. And in the year 1066, the leader of Normandy William, led his army to England.

From the year 994, Svein ,the king of Denmark, invaded England again. Although the English people paid the Danes a lot of dane-geld, in order to keep the invaders away . But the Danes never went .(introduce dane-geld)
In 1013, Svein launch a great attack to the Anglo-Saxons. The next year ,he had took control of most of England, and became the ruler . However, he died in the same year.
In 1016, England is divided into two parts. One part was control by the Danes, and the other by the Anglo-Saxon. Canute ,(1016-35) the son of Sevin, reached a agreement with the Wessex king. In this agreement., the Anglo-Saxon king promised that if one of them died , the other would control the hole country. unfortunatly, the wessex king died. shortly afterward

I came to Tokyo about 3 weeks ago. I've been studying Japanese for a few years but I don't really know that much to get into any in depth conversations so generally I resort to talking like a 4 year old. At my university, the Japanese kids are too easily intimidated by foreignors. Even if I ask someone what time it is or for simple directions, they will suddenly develope a studder and stop blinking, even when I say it in perfect Japanese. Because of my classes, I don't have time for teams, clubs or a job, and definitly not for clubbing. So for now, I've made friends with all the other foreignors who have the same problem. I've seen that it can work if you speak very well, and can talk about interesting things but at the same time it seems that you will only begin to speak well if you practice a lot, which means you would need to have those friends already in order to get good. I've met friends(not-english speakers) of friends(english speaking-japanese) but it doesn't go anywhere.
