Cocher=to check off, to mark
Cochez is the command for second person plural (either friendly or formal) and also second person singular formal. On the other hand, coucher=to go to sleep, like that song "Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir?" (Do you wanna sleep with me this evening?)

There's a free Mini-translator program you can download at YAHOO Widgets. It's pretty good, and includes French language translation capabilities.

It means "check" or "mark"
For example, when you fill some paperwork, or applications, you have to show the right answers with check marks (like this one: X ).
Cochez la bonne réponse= check the right answer.
