Do you think that we,as a nation, should become a bilingual nation or should people that come here have to speak our language?

They always seem to want to speak english, and don't care if you speak japanese. That's been my experience. And it's specially true if the people are advanced in english. But i think it's pretty rude to ignore your interest in their culture and language. Why do they do this? Why can't they share, and speak in two languages. that's how i view it whenever i speak to a foreigner, i like to share and learn from them too.

Are there any alternatives to the above mentioned terms of relief, disgust and amazement that do not sound coarse (thank feck, oh crap etc), nor sound dated (whoopsy, my word!) or overly sweet? I am so sick of referring to religious matters when religion is usually what I am so disgusted or astonished about. Good grief!

There is the most adorable little girl I know and she reminds me of a Zulu princess. I would really love to know the word so that I can tell her and her Mom.

I have just answered a question in Religion and Spirtuality where the askers question was basically 'what would you borrow me',
Grammatically AWFUL, but when pulled up on it, got shirty and spouted "I HAVE A-LEVEL ENGLISH"
Well, if you take the time to study and presumably pass the exam, why don't you carry this with you through life???

Apart from a few exceptions (delightful, divine to name a couple), most words that have a negative connotation begin with with a "D". Try listing off a few and you can't stop. If you want to really get going, try open the dictionary at the "D" section..........or maybe I should stop thinking about it and get some work done....

Any light shed on this would be great, thanks, although I'm scared to ruin the mystery......

I grew up in a household where if my mother spoke Spanish my father would condemn her, in turn I never learned. Now that I'm older, I feel incomplete having family members I can't even talk to due to my language barrier. Classes are a bit "rinky dink", and I wanted to know if anyone out there had a similar experience and can tell what they did to pick up a second language when your surrounded by English. I imagine it's more difficult the older I get to pick up the language. Thanks a lot in advance for yout time guys! - Teleflurry.
