it means peace or "deuces" (which means peace) but instead of doin it the old-fashioned way (going up) u do it side ways wait does that make sense? hope it did and im in high skool myself and we do it often so "Deuces"- w/ out the lip thing! lol

I am not in that generation.., but the best that I can figure would be that it is just a simple peace sign...,
The hip hop culture of today seems to have taken it and mixed it with a pseudo hand sign..., because they think that twisting your hand in that configuration is cool...,
Kind of like "throwing" a gang sign..., lame at best!!

they look different to me. The girl alone...I can't tell what it means. The group of girls are trying to be cool. They think they're gangsta. I'm sure they don't even now what it means!

Girls in my school do that too, and some dumb guys who have all girl friends. They think it's cool and they are being "gangsta" or something. It's kind of dumb and they just look dumb, i mean look at their faces. haha.
