So, why when I asked something in welsh, did people treat me like an alien, and give my only answerer who answered in welsh, a thumbs down? What is wrong with all the ignorant people here? Unless you speak in english, you are treated like something someone stepped in?????????

...spent a couple of days in London with old college mates, basically to see Carnival. They live in Streatham, and every pub we went to, we bumped into white kids (between, say 18 and 25) who thought they had just come off a flight from Kingston, Jamaica, with their patois perfect...and somewhat a bit camp. Maybe they presumed I would be impressed! Not seen it in most other English cities, so is it a 'London' thing, or have they got sick of the 'Del Boy' accent?

If you speak to your kid in two languages as they grow up (ex: Spanish and English), and give them both pretty close to equal time, will they speak Spanish with a Spanish accent as they have heard it from you or your partner and English with an English accent as they have heard it? Or will they develop one first or stronger and speak the other with that accent? Did that make any sense at all? Haha.

STILL REACHES MORE THAN 8 billion US dollars per year,

or

IS STILL BEYOND 8 billion US dollars per year.

Do they still have the same meaning?

Context:
However, Indonesia still exports its LNG, piping gas and coal. So, It can be said that it is, overall, still a net exporter of fossil energy equalling 2 million barrels of oil per day. This situation is very helpful in providing subsidy funds for domestic fuels, of which the amount STILL REACHES MORE THAN 8 billion US dollars per year despite the fact that Indonesia has cut fuel subsidy by increasing oil price by 100 % last year.

...alternative with same meaning?

Context:

Indonesia has become oil exporter for more than 40 years.

Domestic political reform carried out in recent years in the purpose of becoming one of the biggest democratic countries in the world has some temporary impact on the slowing down of Indonesia’s economic development activities, including reduced investment in upstream oil and gas sector that lead to a huge decline in production. On the other hand, domestic consumption has been increasing. Thus, even though Indonesia still exports its oil, AS A WHOLE, Indonesia is currently a net oil importer.

Should I minor in another language, or some other subject? The school I attend offers courses in Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, or Swahili. Not really interested in Spanish, Arabic, or Swahili, though.
I would like to know what would be the better career move, not an opinion based on personal preference.
