I think the 20th century has had a lot of great writters. I am not so much for poetry but I have enjoyed authors such as, EM Forester, Stephen King, Barnard Cornwall, CS Lewis, JRR Tolken, JD Salinger. There have been a lot of great works written in the last 106 years.

Greatest 20th Century Prose Novelist - James Joyce

No one else even comes close to these two titans.

There are many great writers who I like...Jack London, Dostoevsky, Virginia Woolf, and many more. But my favorite writer is Thomas Hardy.
