Who told you that you are funny ?
But I understand. As you say in your question, and you are right.
We think. You don't

Depends. The only way to perfect your mastery of a language is to learn to think in that language. When I am speaking English, surrounded by English-speaking people, I think in English. More than once I've been 'thrown-for-a-loop' when unexpectedly someone addresses me in a language other than English. Especially when I am not aware that this person speaks a language other than English. I have to transition to that language, for example, Spanish.
When I am surrounded by Spanish-speaking people, I think in Spanish.
I hope that made sense.

Well, of course they do. What else would they think in? But I've often wondered if Spanish people who use the Castillian accent think with a lisp? or do English speaking people who lisp think that way or in their minds, are they pronouncing the words the way everyone else does?

Most people think in the first language they learned. I am fascinated with trying to understand how people who are deaf from birth think. Sign language as a primary language would give rise to a very different sort of mental language, don't you think? It's a language you see rather than hear. And can you even begin to imagine the mind of someone like Helen Keller?

For the most part, people think in their native language. No doubt, when they are in another country trying to learn the language of that country, they start thinking in the language of that country.

I think people think in languageless thoughts unless they're preparing to say something or need to deeply analyze something by talking to themselves in their heads.
When you move your arm, you don't tell it to move in English. When you swing your tennis racquet, you don't think "turn, step in, swing, hit ball, follow through" unless you're really thinking too hard about it.
My mother speaks to me in a non-English language. When I answer, I do not first translate what she said. Sometimes I forget in which language she spoke. Meanings have no language.

Unbelievable. Teachers always say there are no stupid questions, but this one is just unbelievable. No dogg, Spanish speakers think in POLISH.

Duh! Yes! Most of them anyway. Some of those that speak another language may think in that language, but if Spanish is all they know then of course they think in Spanish.
