Just recently I told a friend that I can't stand another insincere Christmas card...no more! I get a phone call that day from http://www.christmasecheer.com saying someone sent me a message and it started sing "We wish you a Merry Christmas!" -- I loved it, anyone else experience my dilema and been shocked by these new free services like christmasecheer.com ?

My little sister has just brought me some $100 nike shoes for christmas. She idolizes me, but she only just got her first job and spent nearly a full weeks pay on me. Is it ok to accept them?

We're having a gift exchange at work in a few days, and I still need to pick out a gift to bring. The most we're supposed to spend is $10, but I'm willing to spend a little more like most people do. We are doing a "white elephant" gift exchange (after someone opens a gift, the next person can either take that one or open a new one), so I wanna get something everyone will like. I was thinking about maybe getting a holiday coffee pack or a couple beer mugs, but those are kind of common. Anyone have any suggestions? Keep in mind that the majority of the people are 22-24 and are both male and female.

A friend of mine who I have know for about 7 months or so just gave me my Christmas present ... It is something that I have wanted for a LONG time, but have never bought because I couldn't afford it. This friend is better off than me financially, but not by much. She truly is one of the most thoughful and generous people I have had the pleasure of meeting, but we've only hung out together a total of about 10 times, so, while we are good friends, I don't really know what she would like.
I would like to get her something really nice to show her how much I appreciate what she did, but nothing I can think of measures up--especially since I am on a tight budget. Any ideas of something I could do for her?? Or should I just give her the gift back and tell her that I love it but can't accept such an expensive gift?? Help!!!

I am 36 years old live at home with my mom. She has bad back problems and cant really live by herself. she and i have become real close friends and i would not change any choices that i have made to be in the position that i am in. The problem is she dont go out that often becuase she is on oxygen and cant walk for long periods of time. she has a scooter but i think she believes it to be more of a hassle than anything else. she loves her grandchildren. she pretty much lives in her bedroom but has a computer that she is loves playing bingo and other games on. she has a tv and radio. she asked me to get her a dvd player. but i dont want to give her something that she asks for.. ( i will give her mine i use my puter anyways). so what do you think.. oh yeah she already has one of those beds that lefts the feet and head. i really want to get her something that she will love and use all the time. what do you think. thanks for any answers that can be provided.
