A family from my church has been good enough to give me a place to live rent-free. I would like to give them something to show my appreciation. I probably can only afford to spend around $20.

I haven't bought new lights in years because all the ones I have found are made in China (which I boycott for a number of reasons-- if you're curious go to http://www.boycottmadeinchina.org ). Actually they don't need to be USA made as long as they are not from China.

If "Christmas" is celebrating the birth of Jesus, Where are we told to celebrate this? What is the origination of Christmas? Why do you celebrate it? Is it because you have always celebrated it or because from the Bible you think it is the right thing to do? Humans are creatures of habits and we are habitual followers of "traditions" like this. Me and my best friend talked about me hosting a Christmas party at my home. I let most of my friends know about it and the date we were planning for. Dec. 15th. Anyway, one of the girls (Jane) who knew I was having my party has invited most of my friends to another Christmas party on Dec. 16th. At this point, I'm afraid most people are going to go to Jane's party because she is our boss at work. I'm worried that most people won't be up for 2 partys in a row, and will diss my party on Friday night to go to hers on Saturday night. Should I continue to have the party? I have ordered numerous party trays and plan on buying a lot of alcohol. Do you think it would be a waste? Is this a bad idea? Or should I just carry on like normal and hope everyone just continues to come as planned? I don't want to waste money on stuff if I don't have to. Any ideas on what to do are greatly appreciated.
