It is insane only because you have stressed yourself out for at least 3 weeks thinking that you should have already done your shopping. You have awakened every day mad at yourself because you didn't do it the night before and making a promise to yourself that you will get it done after work today. So now you have made yourself miserable every day for 3 weeks.
The shopping aspect on Christmas Eve isn't bad IF you aren't shopping for anything particular for anyone. So if you are just out there to find 10 relatives presents in the $50.00 or under category, it is a breeze. You don't have time to agonize a decision over anything, just grab, throw in the cart, and wrap with pre-printed Christmas boxes or bags. Kind of a wham, bam, you are done.

I personally think it's insane, but that's only because I can't stand being in large crowds. If you can handle being in crowds & waiting in line forever then you'll be fine. Otherwise, if you HAVE to shop on Christmas Eve with no choice, go extra late at night so there's not so many people. As late as you can possibly go for that store. Wal-mart is open 24 hours here where I live & going at night is the best or very very early in the morning. Good luck~

Probably insane...

It could go one of two ways... you might get good deals because who shops on Christmas Eve... they might be ready to get rid of things they brought in for the holidays.

OR it might be jacked up because the only people who shop on Christmas Eve are desperate people.

Either way, I can't imagine there is a good selection so then you are buying things for the sake of having a gift and not because its something the person wanted.

INSANE! No doubt about it. I personally think most Christmas shopping is insane, but especially as you get closer to Christmas. I did ALL of my shopping online this year. Haven't set foot in one single overcrowded, overheated store. Not one. Not even for my gift wrap. I used current.com, amazon.com, overstock.com, qvc.com.....and presto....done! Love it. I got GREAT prices too, and found some gifts that I wouldn't find in the stores....unique stuff. Not your usual sweater, scarf, book, or PJ's.

you have to be out your mind with insanity to actually shop on christmas eve. but i guess a lot of people don't mind or it wouldn't be insane because people wouldn't do it.

It's insane, but not nearly as insane as Christmas shopping on Black Friday!!

Personally I wouldn't do it, but it can be a lot of fun if there's a group of you and you only have to get last minute stocking fillers. However if you choose them to do the bulk of your shopping then that is insane

We celebrate on Christmas Eve, so I've never shopped then! I would imagine that you'd catch some pretty sweet sales though! Merry Chrismas & God bless!!
