A kid and his strange family. Kid wants a red rider BB gun for Christmas. EVERYONE tells him "you will shoot your eye out". He doesn't think he will get it. But come Christmas after opening all the presents in disappointment, his father brings out a hidden one.It turns out to be the red rider BB gun. He goes out alone the first time to use it. He almost shoots his eye out and breaks his glasses. But he lies and plays it off that it was an icicle that broke his glasses. Everything is good and everyone lives happily ever after.

I love this story because the author is from Indiana and the story is set in Indiana. Gene Shepard wrote other screen plays about Ralphie growing up one is Ollie Hopnoodles Haven of Bliss about the same family going on vacation to the lake. There is another one about a Top compitition. I love the whinie little brother in a Christmas story. He whines through all the other stories too. It wouldn't be Christmas with out seeing this movie.

a kid wanting a bb gun and nobody is wanting him to have it. I really think it is somewhat stupid, try watching it and judge for yourself, even though I started watching it and changed channels!
