My little sister has just brought me some $100 nike shoes for christmas. She idolizes me, but she only just got her first job and spent nearly a full weeks pay on me. Is it ok to accept them?

none of my sisters did such a thing for me. i guess you need to take into consideration the spirit in which the gift was given. how old is she and how dependant she actually is on her wages. how much is $100 really. i guess if there is a cheaper option for the same product ie.. outlet store; you could nudge on to that path. you could also remind her its not the gift but the thought that counts and decline it. but my belief is; if you don't want to give it don't buy.

I think it's the most beautiful present a sister could ever give her brother. She would have bought them for you because she loves you. Of course you must accept. Are you her only brother??

Love between siblings is a wonderful gift in life these days.
Maybe you could bestow the same on her. of course she would not expect you to do the same if your still a student, but something that would be close to her heart.

Good luck

It is obvious your sister loves you very much.
If you reject her hard earned gift, you will hurt her feelings.

Find out what she would love to have (but wouldn't splurge on herself) ... and surprise her with the thing she would LOVE to have, for Xmas.

If you do not work yet ... and therefore don't have enough money to buy her something special, perhaps you could help her out in some other way, like doing her chores for a month or something like that.

I think youre sister must love you alot. Take the gift and do something really nice for her, it dont have to cost money. But more than anything tell her you love her.

Since she is your sister, yes. You shouldn't take away the incredible feeling she will get from giving them to you. Make SURE you tell her how much you appreciate it.

You'd probably hurt her feelings if you didnt except them...maybe you should buy her a present of EQUAL value.

Perhaps giving you those shoes was the very reason she got the job in the first place. Thank her profusely. It is making her very happy to please you.
