Like if you know one interest they share, say a style of music, is it ok to give a CD to both of them jointly, or is that cheap?

would you like this year

Ok, most people here think that it's too early for holiday decorations, songs, television specials, etc.

I just went to the grocery store and there was a Salvation Army bell ringer outside the front door.

Too early?

If you say no it's never too early for goodwill and charity, then how can you say it's too early for the joy that other people get out of holiday decorations, songs, television specials, etc.?

But then how can you say yes it's too early for charity and goodwill?

I would like to make those felt and sequined stockings you hang up on christmas eve, and sell them. They are almost $20.00 to purchase and then at least 2 days to make. Do you think I could sell them for $50.00? I would probably do it on etsy.

After visiting relatives in brighton, I was shocked to see a house-front covered in flashing Christmas lights.
When informing work mates about this I was told that in fact they had been up for over a week.

Dont get me wrong - I myself love Christmas, and all the 'Trimmings' that go with it (as do most of the non-Christian people where I work)

I was just wondering what everyone else thought on this matter.

So my question is ---

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE FACT THAT THERE ARE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS UP ALREADY ???

isn't it a bit to early to put up christmas stuff in nov they even started selling christmas stuff before the halloween stuff last month. This is getting a bit out of hand. The adults are acting a bit like kiddies, can't wait for the big day. I love christmas prezzies and family get togethers but im not christian. Isn't christmas supposed to celebrate jesus's birth what happened to carol singers, people from church collecting money for poor going to church on christmas day?
Is the holiday just a day for people to spend money stuff faces and play games? What happened to christ you replaced him with some fat barstard who falls down a chimney!?
If I was christ I'd be pretty pissed off!

cup cakes, impossible pumpkin pie, cool whip, cranberry salad.

They broke ground for this new memorial today on th National Mall in DC. Do you think it'll become a haven for crime, just like all the streets named after MLK in the country...specifically thinking of Baltimore, Atlanta, and DC.

Is there some sort of fake turkey or ham meant for vegetarian thanksgivings. Besides veggie colecuts?

Over the last few years, my in laws have always joked that they would make me cook a christmas dinner and that they would make a curry ( I am of Indian descent you see) This Christmas, my in laws have come up with a challenge. ( Its not a challenge really but will make things more fun ).
I am to cook a full Christmas dinner, trimmings and all for the whole family, on Christmas day. Bearing in mind I have only ever cooked a sunday dinner for two. And on Christmas eve my uncle (-in law) is making a curry.
I think he got the easy option.
Do you think I can do it??

And also this is for all the people out there, to see how people accept each others cultures. Not as hard as some people make it sound. I love being able to share christmas with others and as they are to share occasions and traditions that i grew up with. If only people out there would just take their blinkers off eh?

I am sure I have read some where that as to not offend people, that the Christmas trees are to be called Winter trees. Or something along those lines, anyway.
I am outraged at this. I think most politicians, media and certain people are taking the situation in UK (terror attacks etc) a bit out of hand. PC has gone absolutely crazy!!
It has always been CHRISTMAS TREES!! And CHRISTMAS trees it should remain.
Just to let you know I was brought up as a Muslim. Myself and my siblings all grew up with Christmas around, we all sent Christmas cards to our friends. My parents sent Xmas cards to their friends.
We had Christmas decorations up every year.
Now I have a daughter and I also want her to grow up embracing Christmas.
I just think it is ridiculous. Just by saying Xmas, Diwali Hanukah, or any other religous occasion or by taking part in different religous occasions does not make you any less a person.
But leaves you broad minded and acceptant of others.
What do others think

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry, candied yams and more covered in gravy? It's insane! I think it's got to take the cake over the religious holidays in December. They're fun, but the stress of that season makes it not worth it. Thanksgiving is just gluttonous fun for the whole family!
