They broke ground for this new memorial today on th National Mall in DC. Do you think it'll become a haven for crime, just like all the streets named after MLK in the country...specifically thinking of Baltimore, Atlanta, and DC.

I believe that the memorial will be treated with respect and revrence it deserves, unlike the strets named after him. Most people do not respect streets, though people with honor and integrity will respect a memorial.

Wow that was truley an uncalled for remark. I happen to work on Martin Luther King Blvd in Tampa Florida, and it is a very clean and professional area with little crime. In Fort Myers Florida, Martin Luther King Blvd was were the city park was and all of the big events took place there, bringing thousands of people from every background to celebrate together. In Norwalk CT, MLK has schools and family corner stores.

I think that this new memorial is long over due and that it will be a great honor to Dr. King and all he believed and stood for.

Are you speifically trying to stir up emotions? Do you know that MLK stood strongly against violence? Did you know that he died violently -and not by the hands of the people who live on any street renamed Martin Luther King,?

He was one of the greatest Americans who ever lived, possibly one of the greatest leaders ever.

What's your problem?
