If one could afford it, would you prefer a night "out" for dinner, dancing, or a movie, OR would you prefer a night "in" with your significant other, sipping cocktails and munching on pizza while watching your favorite movie ?

A Scotsman stranded on a desert island comes across a woman who has washed up onto shore. The Scotsman helps the woman and welcomes her to the island.

Later on that day, the woman says, "I don't suppose you smoked before you were stranded on this island, did you?"

The Scotsman explains that he most certainly did smoke before becoming stranded on the island. So, the woman produces a cigarette from her bag, and they enjoy a smoke together.

A little later, the woman says, "I don't suppose you drank before you were stranded on this island, did you?"

The Scotsman explains that he most certainly did drink before becoming stranded on the island. So, the woman produces a flask from her bag, and they enjoy a drink together.

Some time later, the woman says, "So, you've been on this island for ten years without a woman, huh?"

"That's right," says the Scotsman.

The woman continue, "I don't suppose you'd like to play around?"

"Good God lady," exclaimed the Scotsman, "you have a set of golf clubs in that bag too?!?!'

I work a full time job at nights so it is hard to do activities that make a daily commitment. I thought about volunteering somewhere but all of the places I checked want a weekly commitment and I just am not sure I can do that every week because of my schedule.

For all Employees Who Work with Rude Customers
An award should go to the Virgin Airlines gate attendant in Sydney some
months ago for being smart and funny, while making her point, when
confronted with a passenger who probably deserved to fly as cargo.
A crowded Virgin flight was cancelled after Virgin's 767s had been
withdrawn from service. A single attendant was re-booking a long line of
inconvenienced travellers. Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way
to the desk. He slapped his ticket down on the counter and said, "I HAVE
to be on this flight and it HAS to be FIRST CLASS".
The attendant replied, "I'm sorry, sir. I'll be happy to try to help you, but
I've got to help these people first, and I'm sure we'll be able to work
something out."
The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that the
passengers behind him could hear, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I
AM?"
Without hesitating, the attendant smiled and grabbed her public address
microphone:
"May I have your attention please, may I have your attention please," she
began - her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal. "We have a
passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If
anyone can help him find his identity, please come to Gate 14."
With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically, the man glared at
the Virgin attendant, gritted his teeth and said, "F... You!"
Without flinching, she smiled and said, "I'm sorry, sir, but you'll have to
get in line for that too”

Revenge of the Blonde
A blonde, wanting to earn some extra money, decided to
hire herself out as a "Handywoman" and started canvassing
a nearby well-to-do neighbourhood.
She went to the front door of the first house, and asked
the owner if he had any odd jobs for her to do.
"Well, I guess I could use somebody to paint my porch,"
he said, "How much will you charge me?"
The blonde quickly responded, "How about £50?"
The man agreed and told her that the paint and everything
she would need was in the garage.
The man's wife, hearing the conversation, said to her
husband, "Does she realise that our porch goes all the
way around the house?"
He responded, "That's a bit cynical, isn't it?"
The wife replied, "You're right. I guess I'm starting to
believe all those 'dumb blonde' jokes we've been getting
by e-mail lately."
A short time later, the blonde came to the door to
collect her money.
"You're finished already?" the husband asked.
"Yes," the blonde replied, "and I had paint leftover, so
I gave it two coats."
Impressed, the man reached into his pocket for the £50
and handed it to her.
"And by the way," the blonde added, "it's not a Porch,
it's a Ferrari".

My mother-in-law has mountains of family pictures in boxes and albums - as she is now approaching 90 years, her oldest son is beginning to scan her collections to his computer, and then burning them to CDs, which she can then view on her TV screen!

She is sooooo happy - to be able to view - and then review, at will - so many memories that have gotten dusty, and been forgotten over the years. . .

This is his holiday 'gift' to her . . . and she now plans to give the original photos to her 'family' members as gifts, along with copies of the CDs!

Happy Holidays - to you, and yours. . .!!!

How do you feel about this 'final' choice? given the importance of 'traditional' funeral services, in our present day culture?

I would like to know how many readers have had a relative pass away in a nursing home. A few months ago I had a relative pass away in a nursing home. Funeral arrangements had been made but to make a story short it took the funeral home four hours to pick up the body. I asked the nursing home if they had a room reserved to place a deceased person until the funeral home arrived. I was shocked when they told me they didn't have any place to put the body. Because of privacy 'issues' they were also not allowed to tell my relative's roommate about the death so I had to inform this other lady there was a dead body in the room. After four hours flies were buzzing around the room. It was a horrible experience. For the past three days I have been calling different elder affairs agencies to complain about this. I get recordings all the time saying they will call me back. Aren't nursing homes required to have a special room for situations like this?
