My mother-in-law has mountains of family pictures in boxes and albums - as she is now approaching 90 years, her oldest son is beginning to scan her collections to his computer, and then burning them to CDs, which she can then view on her TV screen!

She is sooooo happy - to be able to view - and then review, at will - so many memories that have gotten dusty, and been forgotten over the years. . .

This is his holiday 'gift' to her . . . and she now plans to give the original photos to her 'family' members as gifts, along with copies of the CDs!

Happy Holidays - to you, and yours. . .!!!

Along with preserving the 'old' stuff - we now use only digital cameras...saves all the hours of scanning! and mother-in-law gets the Thanksgiving pictures - the very next day!!!

I should be preserving my photos also but it's one of those time consuming things that I keep putting off. What a wonderful thing your mother-in-law's oldest son is doing for her. She'll have many hours of enjoyment as she views the photos. So many wonderful memories for her also. What a wonderful Christmas gift to give. Her gift to her family is a great one as well. Priceless!!!

Happy Holidays....to you & yours as well. :)

I have all photos from when I was a baby and I have all hubbys too. Since both our parents are gone,I spent many winters putting all the photos into albums, and I love taking them out and going thru them, seeing my grown kids now in their 40's as newborns and me pregnant looking so young and happy.we laugh at some wedding pictures, and gag at the fashions and hair styles, leisure suits and long hair, Neru jackets, hip huggers,Ben Casey shirts, long side burns, beehive haircuts, and french twists, its a blast to go down memory lane. What I nice gift foryour mom in law, happy holidays to you also.

I have a boxful of photos and I really wish I knew how to do this. Maybe I will one day. Only had the computer for 9 months and still learning.
How wonderful for your M-I-L to view all her precious photos on the screen.

That is a very good thing. And I need to look into this for my photos and kids photos. I bet she loves being able to look at them without having to drag out boxes and boxes of photos. What a wonderful gift that was.

be careful, the countless issues you're able to do to it may take the value away. as quickly as we've been little, a new child pasted all his baseball enjoying cards - and he had some sturdy ones in a e book, and that ruined the backs of them. Framing is a sturdy concept or only utilising website protectors.
