Some people actually believe it can happen.

My oldest brother, now retired, has lived among Muslims for roughly 45 years as a preacher. He was not allowed to proselytize. He once had to calm a mob by putting a cloth cover over his church's cross. He had to use a different route each time he went to market to prevent being set upon.

Even so, shortly after he retired, he was stabbed. The local police said he probably knew his assailant. Fortunately, he survived that attack.

He said the best way to survive in a hostile environment is to keep your head down -- "easy to do when you're on your knees."

I would, but only in the springtime. From what I've read, it's pretty rugged, and particularly so in the wintertime.

My inspiration doesn't come only from Eyedontnose, but also from books by Nancy Atherton and Diana Gabaldon and Katherine Kurtz. All three describe countryside that is at once serene and awe-full.

There are many Senior Citizens, that have no investments, and were forced into retirement; because the next generation needed work, also the generation before the baby boomers are living on pennies too. The problem is these Seniors hardly receive enough money to live on > so they have to take odd jobs, some are over 70 > because most all of them receive and or make just pennies above most programs for low income people > What should be done about that?

JUST FOR ONE DAY!

What would you do to satisfy your curiosity about the opposite sex?

And we will all try to keep this mature shall we?

Me - I would visit an all male emporium and find out just how
macho/bravissimo/earthy their conversation really is!
I have a suspicion that they actually talk among themselves about weight and grey hairs and ageing and possibly even wives/significant others/partners in a less than flattering way?

What would you do?

With my new fit firm body (thank you McTealc for the exercise on the moors!) and my abstention from the booze (after a short while of total absorbtion in it to kill the pain) - I am embracing celibacy and fitness and abstention.

It is just me and the hens from now on. No men, no chocolate (the demons tool that started this decline in my life!) no clan warfare!

A simple, clean living, stressless life for me.

This evening the power was off in my section of the city for 3 hours. It was very hot and humid today and we had the air conditioning on earlier. We couldn't cook, watch tv., use the computer and since it gets dark early now ,see without a flashlight. We became irritable very quickly, hungry and bored. My grandaughter was in tears and this wasn't a long wait to have the power restored. I explained to her that when I was a young child, we had no tv or computers. We spent more time as a family, played board games, pick up sticks, dominoes, jacks and spent a great deal of time out doors. Everyone has become segregated into different rooms of the house doing their own thing. We have become complacent about the luxury of having everyday conveniences at the expense of what really matters most.

your dentures or partial? When I first got my sweet little Sadie,
my shih-tzu, I had just gotten a partial. It was very expensive and was a special type that couldn't be detected in my mouth. I wasn't used to it yet so took it out and put it on the table.
My daughter was over visiting and at some point we both fell alseep watching TV. When we woke up I heard little Sadie under the coffe table chewing on one of her toys......when to my horror she looked up at me with my teeth in her mouth. They were chewed to pieces. I wanted to cry but we couldn't stop laughing at Sadie with the extra teeth sticking out of her little puppy mouth.

I clean houses, and one woman I have been cleaning for could really use some prayer! I started cleaning house for her and her husband about 2 or 2 1/2 years ago. Well, a few months ago her husband died. Now when I go to her house I find things in terrible disarray! Clothes everywhere, shoes scattered over the whole bedroom floor, rotten food, old stinky milk containers, trash not appearing to have been taken out since my last visit (I come every two weeks). I have found used Attends on the floor, before her husband passed away she never used Attends. I used to be able to clean her whole house (upstairs and down) in 4 hours, now I barely clean the upstairs in that time, even though I no longer have to clean one of the bedrooms or bathrooms.

She also had been a car wreck recently, and is now taking an Access bus to a Senior center nearby. She obsesses about the bus all morning, they are not due until 10:30 but she parks herself by the door waiting at 9:00 and is afraid to even

I retired at 50, so that I could move closer to my daughter with all her medical problems. Now, for 27 years, I owned an Interior decorating business which was very successful. But, when I chose to move closer to my daughter, that put 100 miles between my clients and me...so, I retired!

Now, I have been given an opportunity to sell the "reborn" dolls that my partner and I make through a very exclusive shop in Dallas! The woman saw a doll I did which was heading for England and she fell in love with her. She got to see the baby that I made the doll to look like as well and it blew her away and has caused her to want to carry our dolls EXCLUSIVELY!

I am so torn about this as I think we could keep the store with inventory but, when Cindy needs me, the dolls would be put on the back burner!

Please, let me know what you think as this is a very important decision I will need to make very soon! Thank you for any pros-cons, on this! Gail
