The story continue, this is the best part! Now we are in a tiney fishing boat, one engine and on a stormy sea, with huge swells. I looked over to see the swells hitting the rocks at an alarming rate ,thrushing out foam, and we were a little nervous. As we sailed on we noticed a beach, with an hotel, and people sitting on the hotel patio. We are both English speaking SA's but we also speak Afrikaans. So, I said to ?Denise, in Afrikaans,"we have to get out of this boat, tell them to pull into this beach". But they did not want to. Eventually we decided to bail out and make a swim for it. We were about 300meters away. We jumped overboard and swam!

There were a bunch of Italian business men having lunch on the patio, and the look on their faces, when they noticed two bilini clad girls emerge from the sea wasCLASSIC! Imagine, two girls just appearing out of the sea! They thought two maddonnas had arrived! All rushed down, throwing their jackets over us, all jabbering away in Italian.

I just looked out of my window and I can hardly see across the street...then I heard the mournful sound of the fog horn from out in the harbor. What do you hear outside your window?

We only had our sleeping bags, bikinis (under jeans) and toothbrushes with us, so we just slept on the beach. By morning all the locals heard that two girls had slept on the beach, and embraced us as their own. The local shop prepared breakfast for us, and had two local fishermen ready to take us to, not only the blue grotto, but all the others that most tourists miss.

The two old fisherman, a few teeth missing, and a tiny boat. We saw all these beautiful grottos, and there WERE beautiful, and then the headed out to sea, and told us they were taking us to lunch with their friends.

The lunch, as with all Italians, lasted five hours, lovely couple. she cooked up a storm of wonderful homemade Italian food. By the time we came to leave, a storm was brewing, and the Mediterranean sea, was throwing up huge swells, the old fisherman, had had a LOT of wine, but assured us that the trip back to Capri would be very safe. Now i have no characters! See QUESTION: 'HOW DID THE MERMAIDS ARISE?"

Morning all. 9.43AM here is Brisbane and sunny day.Thought you might like this, it is true.
While we were hicthiking around Europe, we were in Rome. We heard that Mount Vesuvius was starting to pour out smoke. We decided it would be "fun" (you are stupid, when you are 19!), so we took off to Naples.

One thing, that always remains in my memory, is the amazing site of four American Navy ships sailing into Naples, all the crew were on deck in formation, and it was just great to watch it.(Goosebump time).

Back to Vesivius. We climbed the side, not too far, and the rocks were very, very hot, and it sure was pouring smoke. Italians were ruuning down, we were going up. I am limited to characters! But then we decided that while we were in Naples, we should go and see the Isle of Capri, and the famous blue Grotto.

So we hopped on the ferry and went across.
Landed on Capri, and it was breathtaking.

NOW SEE MY QUESTION ON "THE MERMAIDS WHO GREW LEGS.

Many older workers are the first to go when a company downsizes and jobs are cut. It's tough to find a comparible position with adequate pay and benefits. A friend of mine went from being a company executive to a job in the sporting goods section at Wal-Mart. It was the best job he could find with health insurance benefits. I know he's not the only one with this type of experience. What's going on in this country?

While they were growing up.

We had timeshare, so used to use that, and had a caravan, and did a lot of windsurfing.

It was always a good inexpensive holiday. I don't like having to go to hotels, where you are expected to dress up. And Club Med, are not for me. We did go to a lot of Islands off the coast of Africa, but they were much less formal.

You could go to dinner inn your bikini top and a pareo or shorts.

But now, I think it is time to find a partner. Alone too long. maybe I should go to club Med? But they may all be too young. LOL
