I guess if you're from the Chicago area or the Midwest, it wouldn't be a good idea. Could be worse though, their last name could have been Gumm.

I think I heard recently that a law might be passed to prohibit people naming their kids things like WalMart. I also heard that a lot of people have named their kids Espn. Wrigley Fields doesn't seem bad at all compared to that!

It's not that bad. Remember John Wayne was Marion! Kids get teased about their name no matter what it is , I always got Donna ponna ! In Quebec province they have a tribunal that checks all names of new born babies and if they decide it is going to cause a problem for the child growing up, the parents are told to change it! It's a big brother law.

I like it.

I thought of naming my son Wrigley before for the same reason- but last name isn't even close to 'field'

I do want my kids to be unique though

I think it was the guy who plays "Earl" who name his son "Pilot Instructor"....it got chosen as the most unusual or weird name in Hollywood , I think. Poor kid. PS...Maybe it WAS Pilot Inspector...think I got it wrong. Sorry. (*Jason Lee)
Lee was married to actress and photographer Carmen Llywelyn from 1995 to 2001.

He and his fiancée Beth Riesgraf (who appeared on an episode on My Name Is Earl called "Faked His Own Death") have a son named Pilot Inspektor Riesgraf Lee (b. September 28, 2003).[4] Lee is a member of the Church of Scientology

Poor child.

What about Gwyneth Paltrow naming her daughter "Apple"

Paula Yates (the late) "Tiger Lily"

Frank Zappa (The late) "Moon Unit"

Then, people who insist on keeping the same name for generations. Like:
Michael Edward or Senior
Michael Edward 1 Junior
Michael Edward 111 Waiting for grandad to die.

Saw the story on WGN news via my cable system. The really funny part is that their love of the Cubs which impelled this action doesn't fit the history of that ball park. It wasn't built for the Cubs. It was built for the Chicago Chi-Feds of the short-lived Federal League.
I think the winner of an interesting name comes from the Northern part of Nevada. A fellow decided to run in the primary election for U.S.Senate and had his name changed for the ballot. I expected him to surface in the past few days to respond to that midwestern politician who was filing suit against God. The guy here in Nevada is "God Almighty".

It could be worse. When this kid grows up people will never forget his name. In some business', this is a big plus. I do think some people go too far and name their children to please themselves instead of thinking how the horrible name will affect the child in school etc.

I'm on a project and one of my out of town contacts is named...HARRY PALM (guys will probably get this joke).
I was stationed with a Navy Lieutenant Davidson. His first name was....you guessed it, HARLEY, But he went by his middle name, Charles. I kid you not! Then there was a kid I met the summer between 6th - 7th grades...Arnold Benedict. His parents were TWISTED!

One of my ex sister-in-laws named her kid. Cosmos and their last name was Couch (Cosmos Couch). This was in the early 70's. She was a drugged out hippy type. I really don't even remember his real name (middle) name that he now uses. Poor kid, I really felt sorry for him. She is now wacked out and in some mental thing somewhere, not in her right mind.
