This oracle often pipes up with just about the most politically correct and absolutely straight right on answers - sometimes not even to questions (which REALLY SHOULD NOT BE POSTED IN A QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS SITE) - but that does not stop her.

Any chance to feel superior to anyone of a lessor (and that is just about everyone according to her) intellect - and she is up on that soap box of hers telling us all how it should be done.

Wouldn't you just love to book her for your next party?
Wouldn't you just love to be stuck in a lift with her?

What annoys me is how she polices this site and tells us all how it should be done and how we are doing it all wrong (if I have read her words 'its all in the guidelines' once - I've read them ....... once, I didn't bother after that!).

My dear girl - have you ever heard the saying "Do you want to be right - or do you want to be liked?".

Because right at this moment - you are ever so ever so right - about everything. Happy?

They have big signs that say "Viet Nam Vet will work for food" or "Three children starving. Need food and money. God Bless". I have stopped to offer food on my way home from the market or a fast food place and they gratefully accept. I know people who have brought them home to work, but they don't work.

But this one takes the cake:
My husband and I were walking thru San Francisco and there was a hippie looking guy sitting on the sidewalk with a hat in front of him on the ground. His sign said "Need money for beer". My husband got such a kick out of his honesty that he put a dollar in the hat!

What kind of experience have you had with this subject?

I just found out that my best friend's son-in-law was killed last night in a terrible auto accident. She is so grateful they had a good, open, relationship and she frequently told him how much she loved him.
I know I've said this countless time on this forum, but life is short. We never know what it will bring or take away.

I've always enjoyed target practice with rifles and shotguns mainly. But last week Hubby gave me a stun gun. Of course it has a flashlight so after dark I can use it to put my key in the door but also be ready in case of an attack. Rather than think what has the world come to that I have resorted to having a weapon in my hand getting into and out of my car I feel okay thugs I have an equalizer. I know if Poppa were alive he would caution me saying someone is going to take that away from you and use it on you. Have an opinion? By the way I support the NRA. Sincerely beleive if we institute gun control only the bad guys will have guns.

My younger sister is almost 50, married and very poor. Her husband is on disability and she has never worked outside the home. Their children are grown now and on their own. Up until his death 5 years ago our father had bought used cars and pickups and gave them to my sister (and her family). "Sister" hasn't asked yet, but I'm sure there is a need. She lives in another state so I can't simply lend her my car when she needs it. They live in a very rural area so public transportation isn't an option. I have two brothers who might help me buy her a vehicle but is this our obligation? We are not wealthy people, just working class with many bills of our own.

What would you do?
