Not all lipstick contains lead. Usually only the cheap stuff.
I wear lipstick when going out and a tinted lip gloss other times.
I don't wear that awful red stuff or the bright purples that I see so many of my peers wearing...makes them look like Bette Davis in "Baby Jane".....
I'm pushing 70.

From what I have read it is mainly the really red lipsticks that contain lead. I could never wear any shade of reds in lipstick. I would bet that a lot of women are still looking for the perfect shade of lipstick. If they ever were lucky enough to find one, the cosmetic company probably stopped making it. I use lip gloss because it comes close to what I want in a shade.

I guess I'm slow to get the news. I wore lipstick until 3 years ago and since have changed to a warm gloss.
( the colors kept bleeding into my lip wrinkles) :)
Should we get tested for lead now? I have often wondered what else is harmful to us that the government won't disclose.
Will we find out that microwaved food causes cancer?
The agents used in moisterizers will cause our face to cave in?
I know that we live in the best country in the world but I'm not so sure of governing methods. They let things go to the public too quickly and to me the cause is greed.

Lead in lipstick? At my age, what difference does it make? It is probably very minimal anyway. One day something is fine, the next day it's going to kill you. Then someone discovers that it's OK after all. I just do what I want. Otherwise I would starve, be all wrinkled up like a prune and would have been dead years ago! Gee, how ever did we get this old without helmets and seat belts?

Yes, I wear lipstick when I am going out of the house. I always have. However, I use Lancome and I have not read anything in their products which contains lead.

I'm not really worried about it. But, my goodness, isn't it amazing all the things that have lead (or something else) that could cause us potential harm. Maybe I should start doing what my granddaugher does and wet a red M&M and use that as lipstick. Oh wait, if I remember right, at one time the red dye #3 in those were suppose to cause cancer. Nevermind.

Honestly, I hardly ever wear lipstick. The little that I wear it, the lead content wouldn't hurt.

i think of each and every woman looks good in commencing place. i do no longer think of eyeliner and eye shadow could be used after 50. i think of a tad of blush is advantageous although. i've got not worn any makeup on a on a regular basis foundation for the previous twelve years or greater via fact it relatively is too warm in Florida. I do placed on makeup although for a definite celebration like as quickly as I gown up. Having come from a extensive kinfolk, and having had careers that convey me into touch with a super form of persons i'm able to assert that adult adult males might surely say no makeup is mandatory or required, and it relatively is via fact they're low priced skates and understand how high priced that's to purchase that makeup and understand ultimately that fee will come out of their pocket.
