conduct pre-game prayer? Does this offend anyone if they just bow their heads with no audible prayer?

I'm not offended by it. If there is no audible prayer, who's to say that the players are not just focusing on or pysching themselves up for the upcoming game. I think a brief "moment of silence" is a nice compromise between those that would like to use it as prayer and those that would like to concentrate on something else.

I don't have a problem with it at all. Moat of the time I think it's done more as a good luck measure then an actual request to God for a win. That alone should satisfy those who are against prayer for religion's sake. Also, who would have a problem with a request for a safe game, no one wants the kids hurt right?

I don't have a problem with it, but then I pray about nearly everything. I know prayers at sporting events are often for a good safe event for all those participating, not for a certain team/person to win.

I go to a Catholic highschool, and play football. Before every game we join in prayer. That doesn't offend me at all even though i'm not the strictest of catholics.

Personally, I think it's a Really Good thing to say a prayer, any time, for any occasion.

A moment of silence would be less offending to all. I don't agree with prayer in school.

Not I - not in the least...although unless I am mistaken, since prayer is outlawed in the schools I would think this may be also.

Prayer has no place in public schools. That coach should be reminded of that.

If the players want to "pray", there is plenty of time to do that quietly, in the locker room, to themselves. No need to make a spectacle out of it. Who are they trying to impress?

No problem, it's a fellowship "no injuries" recognition thing.
(you might note, members of many pro-teams do likewise, guess they're found out it isn't illegal to have a little piety)

It might be noted, they're off the game clock.
