there is a new show called the little mosque on the prarie that will debt tonight on the cbc.. its about a laywer from Toronto that moves to a small town in saskatchewan.. to open up a mosque and it goes a long the line of what life is like for muslims in a small town and all the craziness/stereotypes that goes a long with it..

do you think you'll watch it? do you think it might help us understand muslims better? and not type cast them all as the same?

do you think this type of show would fly if it was small town amercia instead?

Arabs are the most ethnically mixed people on the planet, because of the location of the Middle East. It’s a crossroads between three continents: Asia, Africa, and Europe. So Arabs came into existence when people from Europe, Africa, and Asia intermingled. This has caused variation in how Arabs look, even within families. For example, I have a grandmother with green eyes and dark blonde hair. And I have a great- grandfather who was black. However, Arabs don’t value their African ancestry as much as they value their European or white heritage. They like light hair better than dark hair, straight hair better than curly hair, light skin better than dark, and blue or green eyes over dark brown eyes. I have light brown skin, dark brown eyes, and curly black hair…and I’ve been called things like “darkie” because of it…this by people in my own family! They like to boast about if one of their children has blue or green eyes, or looks white or something…I guess racism exists even within families!

i just wonder,what are they doing at school? is there any geography classes out there or not? or are they learning everything about 50 states and nothing about other countries of the world? they only care about their Mcdonald's.they still think of for example Kirgizstan as a soviet republik! they absolutely have no idea of what is going on on the other part of the world! maybe the have never looked at the world map closely! though it is not adressed to all american people but most of them.i 'm familiar with some representatives of america who are well informed about everything.

My little brother 16 is "emo" my parents have him in counseling and we are trying to cope with his black nail polish eye liner, and the cutting himself thing but it is so hard for my parents, and I live 2 hours away. He says everyone is doing it. I work with HS kids and I hear it is very common. Why? What makes this emo phase cool?

As a dark skinned female, I have been told on several occasions that I am cute or pretty for a dark skinned girl. This really throws me for a loop because I don't think that's a compliment at all. It's like they're saying that most dark skinned females are not attractive an I am an exception to the rule which is not the case at all. There are plenty of beautiful darker complexed people. Has anyone ever experienced this and this is to include all nationalities.

xenophobia: fear or dislike of foreigners

The country of Japan as a whole is supposedly dismissive of other races and cultures, considering themselves superior. Several restaurants, clubs, etc in Japan will actually post signs banning foreigners. Yet they love American musicians, movies and other artifacts of pop culture. Why is this?

Denver is under snow, yet people are helping each other to get food, to get cars out of snowbanks, to get medicine to those that need it. Florida has seen hurricanes every year since the beginning if time, the norhtheast was recently flooded, wildfires have hit the west anually . HOW DID THESE PEOPLE MANAGE WITHOUT GOVERNMENT AID? I mean when ever there is a crime where specifically a black person from Harlem is offended by a white he is the first one to come out publically and get his face on TV. He is saying that he is doing it for peace and for goodness. But I never saw him publically do the same when Wesley Autrey, the hero, saved that guyin the Subway. I mean if you say you are a man for GOOD then where are you to celebrate the actual GOOD and Humanity of people. What im talking about is the bit where someone says "Nice car buddy" and the other guy says "yer...360 BHP...0-60 in 6.3232 seconds, all-carbon chassis...PU-Zinc spaceframe tensile strength of 34243mega tons SIR!!". You know the bits Im talking about.

Theres always someone trying to show how "intelligent" they are by quoting all these irrelevant information. Its just so dumb and childish.

black people are some of the most trusting, helpful kind, trustworthy good & moral people on the planet. No generalisation; history's borne this out... black people don't profit from other people's pain or from ripping off anyone else on the scale that white folks or asians do...

& if you think this racist, you have a lot of history to do.

Just look at any empire from the Persian, Roman, British, Turkish or Chineese. Where is the black mass abuse of people. I'm black. I know we only abuse ourselves & not over power, the feuding or fighting of black people is predominantly about survival.

On a more human to human level, still black people steal a lot less than others, on all levels. A measure you can proove and analyse can be found through divorce. If you consider adultery a form of stealing, the statistics through just divorce would put black people lower on the list than others.
