I don't. Being the only one that matters other opinions are of little or no value. Do you agree with this? Not that I'm interested

i think that's a good question. i think one only wants to know something if he/she gets something out of it. if not, then they don't care.

Absolutely. Conversation feeds thinking. Without others opinion we would be less intelligent and oracles. Moreover, believing that your opinion is the best one, shows abundant narcissism. There is so much beauty when you discuss. The way another person things, how diferrently his brain is functionning is a reason why you should care about other thoughts. Other's thoughts are always useful. They make you think or change your mind and become more prudent. Dont forget that even the books you read are someone else's opinion...don't you ever read?

Most advertising appeals to variations of the motivation people have towards being liked, admired, lusted after, employed, invited to parties, and otherwise shown APPROVAL by other people. If these attitudes weren't widespread, advertising wouldn't work.

The whole point of Law, or Qualifications, or Science, is to measure your legal entitlement, capability, or understanding against the beliefs of other people (judges or jurors, examiners, and Peer Review boards respectively).

I think you want other people to notice what an independent, unconventional free-thinker you are. According to most movies, people like that are the best lovers, and attract the most passionate partners. So perhaps you have a lot of respect for the opinions of film-makers.

LOL, oxymoron question...but to answer it, not really. I care what my husband thinks of me and that people view me as being successful, but if they think I'm snobbish, stuck up or annoying....nope don't care at all. Many people's opinions are just something that justifies the wrong-doing in their own lives, so I rarely respect other's opinions. Sometimes, just not all the time.

Not one little bit, we all have our own opinions on things that matter to us, other things may be of a passing interest but that's it, what others think well that's up to them, we are all different

It's good to lsiten to other opinions because they might change but I sort of admire you for being confident and true to your opinions and beliefs but not listening to others and saying they are of little value is not respecting there opinions like they do yours.

No, people will have their own opinions, and hope to justify them by finding other people with the same opinions. They have preconceived ideas and all who go against them are wrong. Not that you care, or that I care if you care or not.

That's my New Year's resolution to be more like you. But I don't want to get to the point that I don't care about other people. It seems hard to not fall into that trap.

You do because you asked a question on this forum. If no one elses opinion mattered but yours you wouldn't need to seek affirmation of that. Are you lonely or something?
