i just wonder,what are they doing at school? is there any geography classes out there or not? or are they learning everything about 50 states and nothing about other countries of the world? they only care about their Mcdonald's.they still think of for example Kirgizstan as a soviet republik! they absolutely have no idea of what is going on on the other part of the world! maybe the have never looked at the world map closely! though it is not adressed to all american people but most of them.i 'm familiar with some representatives of america who are well informed about everything.

The simple truth is the world has heard about America because what we do affects the world.Why would an average American have heard of Kirgizstan?No disrepect intended but their are many small countries that most Americans haven't heard of.We all watch the world news,but if your country is not on there because something is happening in your country (good or bad) are we to blame that we don't know where it's located?Yes we do teach world history in our schools and geography also.Does this mean we know or even care to know the name and location of evry country on the planet.I think not.Americans are like everyone else in the world and mostly just care about the things that affect their everyday lives.While the Intenet has made it much easier to meet people from all over the world you shouldn't be surprised that the world hasn't heard of you.How about just being an ambassador for your little part of the world and educate those of us who don't know who you are.

And, I bet if you went around where you live, you could find people who were the same. The simple fact is most people don't really care. And why should they? How is Kyrgyzstan (yes, I took the time to spell it right, because I care) not being part of the Soviet Union going to effect the average person's life? It's not. Besides, there is too much toworry about. Is my company about to downsize? Are the kids learning anything in school? Did the credit card company get that check I sent? Is my spouse being unfaithful?

I'm English and not a huge fan of the collective philosophy of the US but I have to say, not everyone is the same. I don't think it's 'most' Americans. I think it's 'some' Americans and I think it's the same in many countries. Certainly, where I come from (England), people are ignorant about geography.
By the way, you spelt 'Kyrgyzstan' wrong.

I would say that people in schools are more focused on what Angelina Jolie is doing that the real stuff and the others are having "relations" with their teachers. its disgusting!

well i wouldnt say that about all of them,... i mean every country has their goods and bads...
but when i told some friends of mine that i was from brazil they were like
do they have buildings where u come from???
lol..
all i answered was : NO, i lived in a tree house"and they believed me!
everyone used to ask me "did u see a lot of monkeys and indians there?!"
