Being homeless is a very unfortunate situation and has a great affect not only on oneself, but others and society in general. What are the affects homelessness or being homeless have on a person, whether they be an adult or child? How does being without a home affect the faimily and society? As I said earlier, homelessness is a horrible situation to be in, but for many people it is a reality. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts or words of wisdom you would care to share.

I've heard many blacks say that the disagree with the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons of the world. So how come there aren't any prominant blacks publically speaking out against them.

I mean when you think about muslim people you think about sep 11 and what happened in London but they dont remember that all muslim people arent like that. Ive got 3 good friends who are muslim and I got in loads of fights in school over kids not liking them because their muslim but they forget about white people who are rapist or murders but yet if your muslim then you must be the devil. How did this happen???

I am worried because that black cop was shot in front of a fried chicken shack. All he wanted was some fried chicken late at night, and some other black guy had to kill him for what, couple of dollars?

How safe is your hood? will you get shot if by a black person if you venture to your fried chicken shack at 1am?

first, just so we're clear, im white. i troll these forums more than i answer them and in my trolling i seem to have come across some crazy freakin people. if white people are the racists, why is it the minorities who have all the out-of-this-world, i cant believe there's really people out there with these viewpoints kind of answers. i mean i am seriously appalled at some of these people and their answers. and im not talking about simple i dont like white people answers, i mean like all white people should die answers. call me racist or whatever for posing simply asking a questiong but i hope some of the people i have in mind answer. and by the way, its obvious these people arent white telling either by their avatar or theyll actually say their ethnicity in their other answers.

Today, I was enrolling my son at a new school. Myself, my son , this black lady and her son were all waiting to meet the Principal. I was called in first because my paperwork had been turned in yesterday. This "lady" started eyeballing me like I was the Anti-Christ. After I left the Principal's office It got worse she was actually sneering and muttering while mad dogging me. WTF?

At around Martin Luther King Day time, the TV runs many movies and documentaries of the civil rights movement and racial issues. I'm 50, a lifelong New Yorker, so I don't know Jim Crow first hand. If you're Black or another color and grew up under the Jim Crow South, please share an incident or two with us, or your general feelings about it. Also, are you still angry now, or have you "made peace" with it? Children, if your parents or grandparents grew up under Jim Crow, please ask them about it. For Whites who grew up in the Jim Crow South, I have a different question at my page, but you may answer here, too.

Around this time, near Martin Luther King Day, the TV runs movies about the civil rights movement and racial issues. I see scenes of white racists jeering blacks, along with beatings, lynchings, and such. And I wonder: that was about 40 years ago; how do those white people who did those things back then feel now, if they're still alive? Are they remorseful? Do they think, "Oh, that was wrong, but boy was it fun?" If you're on this website and you were alive back then and did those things, or know some who did, please answer. ok at my school basketball game their was this asian kid on the other team and he was really good, i mean good, and then the white kids started sain chinks and saying where is your numshucks and all that, i started to get mad and i started saying stuff to them and then some were like why are u getting mad it isnt like we are telling you to go back to africa.

do you think it was right for me to get mad?

i got mad because being a minority in this countrey made me realize that that could be me down there or hell that could even be a white person playin with and against all blacks.

what gets me is that they have a asian friend but he wasnt at the game, so they probably say stuff like that about black people behind my back. some friends huh!!!

On most applications, it will tell you that if your ancestry is from north Africa or Middle East to fill in Caucasian or white as your "race". But Arabs are all of mixed ancestry. While some Arabs do look white because of intermingling with Europeans, most Arabs have more African ancestry. A lot of Arabs have brown skin, dark eyes, and dark hair. I'm of Arab descent, and I don't think anyone could ever think I'm white. The one time I followed application guidelines, a so-called friend from school (who is white) told me, "Why did you put white? You're not white, the only place you have white is in your eyes."

Women wanted to be free to live their own lives and in exchange have given up the priviledges of being women. Why would a woman trade having a husband and family and having time to take care of and enjoy them for a life of endless "relationships" with no future or a marriage and family life in which they are too tired from working to spend time with their family and spouses? I feel women's lib has benefited men more because now they can have free sex with no committed as long as they want and when they do marry, they expect their wife to work full time and pay part of the bills instead of taking on their role as providers.

I remember when I was in my thirties and applying of jobs. Lots of my Catholic friends submitted photos of themselves in their convent uniforms and whilst you may think this was superfluous it was not and got them the jobs.

Names like `America`, `Jesus`, `Moses` are a fast grab at recognition without the hard work. Mind you, I do fancy the name Philadelphia myself.
