Honestly - who cares? They are innocent children who have been given a loving home, and wouldn't have had one otherwise. Does it really matter where they were born?

I don't have a problem with it. It's like if you see a need to do something then do it. So if a child needs a home and you are willing to provide it then more power to you. Glitterkitty and happygirl said it the best, in the U.S. they make is pretty tricky to get a child. I think this is not fair for the people who have a great home and lots of love to provide a child with. I have known people who have tried to adopt here in the U.S. and they say the same thing. I also have heard that some places in the U.S. have what is called an open adoption policy. Which from what that person explained to me was that a parent can come back and fight for their right to take the child from the adopted parents. How unfair is that. So that was one of the reasons why they chose a foreign closed adoption.

I understand why they adopt outside the US it is easier to get a child from a foreign country. Especially if you have a lot of money. In the US no matter how much money you have you still have to wait a long time and Angelina is no spring chicken where the adoption agencies are conserned. So she stands a better chance of getting a child outside the US.

I have had a problem with this question on adoption for a long time.....i do truly understand children from other country's need homes.....but, shouldn't we take care of our own first? OK i know that may sound bad but, seriously do people understand how many kids in the US need homes? wouldn't we be a better U.S.A if ALL of our kids had a chance to grow up and have the tools, support and confidence of a loving family?
I THINK SO!!!!!

I think it is fine. Rescuing a child is rescuing a child, and it is not quite so easy to adopt children here in the U.S. as many would like to think. We began the process twice only to have it fall through because of whims of the social worker. Since we have other children of our own and felt the up and down emotional roller coaster was too much for them, we decided not to pursue any other adoptions. We would have gladly given a home to a child but our U.S. system can make it difficult for even very good, healthy families, and as a result, many children end up stuck in the foster care system instead of being placed in permanent homes.

I don't have a problem with it. There is no reason any child should be without a loving home. There is just so much red tape that it's easier to adopt overseas. Just because a child isn't an American doesn't mean the child is less deserving of having a home.

It's not like kids in the U.S. are better than kids from other countries...a helpless child is a helpless child, despite where they're from. Shame on you for thinking people from the U.S. have superiority over people in other countries! Plus, the living conditions for orphans in the U.S. is FAR BETTER than the living conditions of orphans in the global south. Think about it.

adoption is love & who cares where the child is from? Why can't you just be happy that one more child is in a safe, loving home? That's the real thing.

They are children. Spare them from boundries. They are the world citizen. Remmember the song:

We are the world... we are the children
