Around this time, near Martin Luther King Day, the TV runs movies about the civil rights movement and racial issues. I see scenes of white racists jeering blacks, along with beatings, lynchings, and such. And I wonder: that was about 40 years ago; how do those white people who did those things back then feel now, if they're still alive? Are they remorseful? Do they think, "Oh, that was wrong, but boy was it fun?" If you're on this website and you were alive back then and did those things, or know some who did, please answer. Children, ask your parents and grandparents.

I know that many of those people from 40, 50 years ago aren't computer savvy. Might you ask one of them, and come back here and write what they told you?
