Will I get shot if I go to a fried chicken shack at 1am?

I am worried because that black cop was shot in front of a fried chicken shack. All he wanted was some fried chicken late at night, and some other black guy had to kill him for what, couple of dollars?

How safe is your hood? will you get shot if by a black person if you venture to your fried chicken shack at 1am?

I'm black and I can find that funny. However the guy questioning is a bit of a tool. His joke was pretty lame, the chicken thing is so played out now. Even if that may have been a true story, just seems you were trying to hard with this one. As the one lady said, you are not clever. Could've came up with a better joke.

I think there was more to the story then this news column. You can't believe everything you read. I live in North St. Louis, Mo, which was named the most dangerous city in the country last year. There are a lot of curruped cops here, but I wouldn't feel threatened getting something to eat at 1am.

I'm not really sure myself. Our chicken shack doesn't open that early or late. Then again accident happened all the time and no matter where. Who knows it might be you or me the next time. Don't get so paranoid, when our time comes, fate will find us.

first, profiling isn't cool.
second, it all depends on how well you kno your 'hood. i myself am not in any way afiiliated nor do i wish to be affiliated with gang activity or any such thing, however, i did live on our west side, wich is the worst of our city. daily drive-bys during daylight hours... thats pretty bad. now, i said profiling isn't cool, but to help me illustrate my point: i am what most would consider 'white' (im actually 75% apachee), and the 'hood is predominantly african-american, yet aside from an occasional slur no body messed with me, in fact alot of people knew me by name though i didn't know them at all.. all because of one thing: i gained thier respect. everyone knew i didn't want to be involved but at the same time i wasn't gonna take anything lying down either. its sounds primitive, but when dealing with the darker side of nature, you have to ask yourself: are you man enough to walk out your front door and walk down your street if you so choose knowing that at any instant, you could get shot? if you can answer yes, than more than likely, you won't get shot. just make sure you don't pick fights with someone who is obviously on something that could be dangerous. self-confidence is the key strategy as well as eloquence in dealing with people on a general whole. if your afraid, then i would getout of there as fast as you can, cause like dogs, they can smell when your afraid and will use it against you. flame me if you want, but thats how i see it, and im still alive.

You can't predict another's mood to kill but If it's your time it's your time and you will go...but i truly doubt it if you get shot for just grabbing something to eat cuz another person got shot doing the same thing....My neighborhood is unsafe but that doesn't scare me....just look like you are poor when u go n get something to eat if you are that nervous
