My boyfriend is Muslim, I'm catholic. My bf has had to come over a lot of hatred even before Sept. 11. He just does his best to forget about it or even laugh about it. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, and just as long as they don't bother us with their hatred, we just ignore it. We both realize that this hatred comes from ignorace which stems from uneducated people.
If people would just learn a thing or two about Islam, it does promote acceptance and peace. So those terrorists who claim they do horrible things in the name of their prophet or Islam, are obviously wrong and have gone in the wrong direction!

The media all jump on a bandwagon creating fear and intolerance, however you must understand people's fears if not their intolernace.
I would never put everyone from a certain race or religion into the same category as we are all different, however the Muslims terrorising Britain are British born and that is frightening! It's wrong for people to blame every Muslim for this as any real Muslims are as appalled by terrorism as us but people are scared and are using this hatred as an outlet.
No one forgets about the crimes white people commit, but Britain is on high alert against terror attacks and emotions are high. Perhaps if people and communities came together instead of fighting each other we could face it as British people and not be divided by hatred and fear.
We also have to look at the "politically correct" groups. PC has gone too far. How can it be ok for Muslims to celebrate their religions but Christians cannot put up decorations at Christmas nor have hot cross buns at Easter? These traditions are so old but we are made to feel we are offending Muslims by celebrating our faith. I don't blame Muslims for this - I blame the PC bandwagon but this just adds into the melting pot.
There is no point you fighting with people over this. What good will this serve?

There are people in all religions who delight in stirring up frictions. If the kids weren't fighting about religion, they'd be fighting about which football team they support. It doesn't help to talk about "white people" who are rapists any more than it helps to talk about muslims who are rapists - talk like that just broadens the divide. If you want to narrow the divide, get some of your muslim friends to support to local sports events, join local teams and become part of the community.
Fighting happens at all schools but you should not accept it without raising the issue. A good school will have effective action that can be taken against bullying.

Most people are so nasty against Muslims because of the propoganda of our government regarding "9/11." It seems to me that the "Muslim Scare" is little different than the "Red Scare" we had during the Cold War. John Birch is probably the most prominent leader in the Red Scare while George Bush and his administration are the prominent leaders of the "Muslim Scare," though Pat Robertson is adding fuel to the fire by claiming that God gave him a vision that the Muslims will attack America again this year. Remember, though, Pat Robertson also told us that God told him to run for President, that The broadcaster predicted in January 2004 that President Bush would easily win re-election (but Bush won by only 51 percent), that storms and possibly a tsunami were to crash into America's coastline in 2006, and put forth other misconceived "prophecies".
It is my opinion that the "Muslim Scare" is being used to fool Americans into willingly giving up their personal freedoms.

There are alot of lies in the media. First of all, if a muslim does any bad thing, even when it had nothing to do with 'religious agenda', they will ALWAYS state the fact that he is a muslim. Do they do this for any other person? No. Also- the government has its own agenda.About half the things you hear that 'muslims' supposedly did are probably done by the country's government as state instituted terror. Did you know that Israel, for example, violates 70 U.N. resolutions? Is this fact ever addressed? Of course not, because Israel is our ally. Some might say that muslims tend to do terrible things in the name of Islam... others might say that the media says terrible lies in reference to muslims...

Because people see lots of the evil Islamists who like to go out on the streets and tell people to prepare for a war and salute 7/7 and 9/11 as victories. While people like your friends stay conspicuously silent. What they should be doing is going out and telling the idiots to shut up and f**k off. And helping the police find the enemy within.
As a result the world only sees one side of Islam and therefore only believes one side exists.
The good Muslims need to start standing up and being as loud as the bad ones

because the terrorists were muslim so a lot of people began to have a view that if you're a muslim, then you must be a terrorist, because the 9/11 bombers etc were muslims (i tihnk am i right?) which is a completely ridiculous idea, but its just the way some things work. fortunately ive never seen it happen but ive heard about it a lot, its quite sad

Unfortunately. We all know that all Muslims are not suicide bombers, but, sadly, so far all suicide bombers have been Muslims. This is called a syllogism. Like, all polar bears are animals. All polar bears are white, therefore all animals are white.
People therefore tend to associate suicide bombers with Muslims, hence all Muslims are...etc. The answer is actually in the hands of the Islamic community. They, presumably, know those rogue Muslims who are into Al Qaeda and suicide bombing. Handing them over to the authorities would go a VERY long way to correct the syllogism. So will it happen?

I think more about something telling me MY GOD isn't what I think and Jesus isn't the son of God and didn't die on the cross and that I MUST praise some OLD GUY what marries 9 year old girls!
It don't make you the least bit miffed that OLD GUYS MARRY 9 year old girls and mate with them! That don't even ruffle your feathers a little!
"Doing" little girls. I was with a girl scout troop last night teaching them things. These were the young ones. The ones still under 12. I can't see ANYONE doing anything sexual with them. That's just too freaky!
I mean THAT arouses you enough to complete sex. Some little girl 1/3 your size with small hands and fingers lying there naked and you get it up and do the task.
That just don't sit right with me.
I mean if I was married to a reasonable adult I'd be asking if doing it was really cool with her, cause there's always tomrrow or next week.
That mentality AND THEN BEING REQUIRED TO PRAISE THIS PERSON just goes beyond all reason and sensiblity.
