Where I live, there is a great deal of violence between blacks and latinos. Being that they are both minorities, why do they not share a common brotherhood?

In standard useage Wahine always refers to a female. It would seem likely that there is a corresponding term for males. What?

Try downgrading to antenna channels as a first step. I did this, give it a week and you will adjust to not having so much content available at your finger tips.

Can we tell them with a straight-face that we didn't know anything was wrong with the world? That we didn't do anything to fight back?

It's up to the consumer to set the standards. All of the problems in the world can be fixed with one simple soluton: ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT. You cry about the environment, you cry about jobs, you cry about war, you cry about corruption... guess what... it's all the same. It's all connected. You talk. You talk. We all talk. Very few actually sacrifice and do anything about it (I am trying, I am crawling and digging my way out... I can only go as fast as I can). Have some balls! Admit to it. Admit it... we live on luxury which requires immense energy. Automobiles, manufactured products, mass airline travel, unchecked power consumption, commuting, non-seasonal non-regional food products, etc. None of this is natural, there is no balance. Comforts you enjoy don't need to be eliminated... we can still have modern things but not to the excesses we have.

Does anyone know how we in here the US are the one's that got the rights to be called Americans?

We are "part" of North America-What about Central America or south America. I was curious to why none of them are reffered to as "Americans" as we are?

That show Ugly Betty starring America Ferrera from South America made a comment once that made sense and got me wondering. Are not we ALL Americans??

Why, or why not?

British farmers are supposedly notorious for it.

Personally I've had 4 run-ins with farmers and all have been ugly encounters, and ended up in hospital one time due to farmer setting dog on me which locked its teeth in to my forearm. (Each time I'm pretty certain was on a legal right-of-way.. said so on my pathfinder maps).

Stereotype or not ?

products.. is that the ultimate aim? The whole thing just seems really bizarre to me... I understand that Indian people buy over 60% of skin lightening products such as Fair and Lovely so my question is a reasonable one...

2007-01-29 08:51:56 · 12 answers · asked by triptipper 3

A few Black friends of mine travelled to India and vowed never to return to your country as they encountered such hostility. It seems that India favours white people and lighter skin which is a very underdeveloped way of thinking to be honest.

In the UK recently the Indian Tourist Board invited Jade Goody [the Big Brother contrstant] to go to India to experience its healing nature but are India aware that Jade Goody is part Black or is the healing nature only open to fair skinned people.

I do not want to ne rude but it angers me thaty societies feel that they are elevated only if their skin shades are light. I also saw this Blog recently which really confirmed my fears about India:
http://vsequeira.blogspot.com/2005/07/fair-lovely.html

India was not the only country colonised by European countries yet it seems to be the society most obsessed with skin colour!
