Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender - April 2007

I asked a few questions. I got some great answers from some great people. But then I suddenly realized I am talking to complete strangers. So I changed my Avatar name to a coded name- and I took off the option of having people email me. Am I being paranoid? I have noticed that most of you guys use coded names rather than your real names and prefer not to be emailed directly. I realize there are standards to this service but it is better to be safe than sorry. Am I over-reacting?

I could never find an answer to that.

For many years I went through all the motions of trying to ‘choose’ NOT to be gay. I prayed, I swore on bibles, I quoted scripture, I damned myself for my dreams, I dated females, and finally even married one. I was NEVER bisexual, I was gay as far as I can remember.

Is this what Gods wants from me? Pretending to be who I am not?

Why do we have to protect our rights from ‘Holy people’ who are deluded in thinking that God told them to make our lives as miserable as possible?

People often refer to the Bible to backup their points about homosexuality. They say, 'It's in the bible that it's a sin, so it's bad.'

First, not everyone believes in the Bible. Second, most people that preach it are sinful in other ways, i.e. judging. So, according to the Bible, they are just as hell-bound as homosexuals are.

Last night I was listening to the radio at work and Don't Stop Me Now by Queen came on the radio, I smiled and said to the room (one other person - my senior was present) in general. "You know, I once sang that song to someone who wanted me to go out on a date with her."

My boss was ... surprised .... to say the least ... "Her????? Are you a lesbian?"

I denied it, several times. but ...... I keep thinking that it might be nice to be in a woman's arms.

I am at a total lose and do not know what to do: I am 18 yrs. old and gay. I grew up in a Christian enviroment and I am Christian. Any act of homosexual behavior is considered a sin, and ultimately sending a person to Hell. I don't believe that... I have a gay friend and I fell awful lying and going around my other friends and family just to hang around him. What can I do?

But the ultimate problem: Both my parent are against homosexuality and they told me that if they were a parent of a gay kid they will disown him/her.

First of all I’m gay and happy. Sencondly I'm reposting this after a couple of months to get a different perspective. Please do post your comments! Here goes...

One of my online friends is having (and has, for a couple of years) an attraction for boys. Haven’t ‘tried’ anything gay, but he is simply disgusted with being ‘gay’ and all… He wants to be heterosexual, and lead a ‘normal life’, as he put it… What is the best thing he can do to overcome this?

I am in Atlanta and come from a small town and I am thinking of telling my parents or maybe one of them aout my sexuality. I been strugglign for a long time and I am sick and tired of being unhappy and depressed

Agree or disagree?

The answers to my most recent question really got me thinking. Gay people have to fight for respect JUST to be with someone they love, just for being themselves. Alot of straight people take advantage of that (no offense to anyone) yes, sometimes straight people have to deal with situations where others don’t want them together on account of their race, age, family, beliefs etc. but would if others just didn’t want them together just because. …. ''its not right''....
