why is it gay people who are fat are always overlooked for the slim gay guys, theres got to be people out there that like fat guys. everyone seems to want slim people

I guess it's just the stigma attached to being fat. In the gay and lesbian community it does seems to be a little worse. I don't care what anyone looks like- if I'm attracted to their personality that'll do it for me.
I think that there are people out there that like fat people - it's just a point of finding them.

I don't know. This seems to be normal whether straight or gay. Fat people tend to over looked and not considered attractive. Part of the problem in the U.S. is that the media pushes the slim people as the only deserving and appealing people.

I don't think that this is at all different from the straight world. If anything, at least in the gay world, there is an 'out' appreciation for bears (by some). Personally, I am a solid 15-20 lbs 'overweight', and I have no desire to change. When I am ideal I look too old.

Because most gay men are into their bodies and are very visual, and like to be with someone who is also the same way. It may not be true for all, of course. There is someone for everyone, you just have to be happy with who you are, and you will find that special person who like you the way you are, weather that is fat, thin, tall, short or ugly!! Gay men are famous for being hung up on having a nice body. Lots of them (and straight men) don't care if you have nothing upstairs - as long as you have a well-built staircase! It's shallow and unrealistic. No matter - lots of hot-bodied people fall in love for love with overweight people. There's really no point in discriminating against fat - 66% of Americans are.

Some folks don't like fat chicks and that is their choice. However, I don't have that kinda problem.... However, I do think there is a stigma on fat people...Ignorance to others who are different than you is absurd!

Its not just gay guy's, its heterosexual guy's as well. We seem to be living in a fatophobic society. Just another phobia to add to a long list.
