On a global scale I mean. I don't know if that sounds weird, but do you feel when there are gay rights parades and stuff like that on TV that you're part of that? Do you feel connected to other gay people you don't even know through probably having experienced similar... hurdles(?) in growing up?
I'm from a really small town and I wonder how it feels for a gay person here, whether they feel completely isolated or feel they have a sense of community through sites like this, programming aimed at gay people ..etc.
I'm just interested, as a straight person I don't feel like a part of any bigger picture (although I know I am,it's just less obvious i suppose).Anyway, I'd love to hear people's opinions on this, if what I'm asking about makes any sense at all... :)

So I am 16, almost 17 and I appear to have a "gay" lisp. The voice sterotypically attributed with gay men. Well, I am not gay, so this is a problem. When girls talk to me they just assume that I am so I become a 'friend' instead of more. And on the phone people think I am a girl. Does anyone know of any vocal exercise or anything I can do?

He is 12 and I let him get both ears pierced and his father and others are very upset about this. They said that the right ear means that the person is homosexual and both ears means this. He says a lot of people have both ears done and they aren't homosexual. It's nothing against the gay people, it's just that he isn't and I don't want people to perceive him this way. He's catching a lot of flack as well as me and we would appreciate any answers or opinions. Thank you so much.

So I've noticed that the majority of guys seem to dismiss Asian guys automatically (even other Asian gay men). It's as if we are automatic turn-offs bc we're not attractive or something. Do all gay men live up to the stereotype that appearance is everything? It seems that way, and it's really sad. Is there any hope that a well-rounded Asian guy can ever find someone who's well-rounded as well, not a totally ugly perv but not an empty a$$hole either. It seems like the pickings are kinda slim...gay guys seem to be at one extreme or the other. I hate this stereotype running around that all gay Asian men are feminine, queeny bottoms. It's really annoying. I've had one too many bad experiences. How can I become less jaded?

Straight. I don't know how I can handle that bitter truth. And now he's facing a hard time telling his folks that he actually likes girls, and will marry a woman someday! I mean his parents are straight-o-phobic, and they even hate the fact that they're straight and tried to change, but nothing worked. Is there a support group for people like him? I pity him.

Do you think this is fair?
Ok since this is a "gay" matter I'd like your opinion. My mate Shay was kicked out of his house by his mum and dad last week because he was in a fight with them. He never told me what the fight was over but he told me the other day it was to due with the fact he came out as being gay. We all knew he was gay for about a year and it didn't bother us because lets face it it isn't as if he had changed or anything you know. But his mum and dad are "over the top" with their christian beliefs and they said they where "ashamed". I think that's pathetic. This is their son and they treat him like s h it? He was staying with us for a few days now he's in his uncles. Why do parents be like this? It's pathetic in my view. You can't change who you are right?

when they can focus on something more productive? why not make harsher punishments for rapeists and molesters and killers. or how about a law makeing it manditory for 6 months of engament before you can get married? that might lower the divorce rate.

Do believe they are:
1: Born gay.
2: Born nothing but conditioned to be whatever sexuality they are.
3: Choose to be gay.
4: A mix of any of them.

I personally believe 4. I think some people are born gay and the homosexuality can be detected from an early age. I also think it can happen at any time in life because of changes in the persons life or developments in the mind. I also think some people do choose. I realize that VERY few do this but I think some people choose it to get attention and rebel. (I know someone who is like this)

I'm not gay I'm just asking because I got in an argument with this kid in English today because he said nobody can truly be gay they just choose to do; because the bible says so.
(cracks me up how arrogant some people are)

My local hang out spot discriminates same sex couples. being bi-sexual myself and being there eith my girlfriend is pretty offensive to me. the owner states that gay couples are not allowed to kiss with in the pool lounge. if this is so then why should we have to sit there and watch straight couples all over each other?
