That's absolutely ridiculous!! Where we go in Manchester's Gay Village straight people are all over each other (sometimes a lot more than just kissing) & I find that to be fine if that's what they want to do but it is disgusting when my partner & I go into a 'straight' bar & we are afraid to even sit too close to each other for fear of homophobic abuse.Even if the anti-homophobic law was enforced it wouldn't matter, some people don't seem to count homosexuals as people with real feelings.

Obviously, it's not right, but whoever said life was fair?

I often wonder what the world would be like if, for instance, high school boys and girls could kiss each other (same sex) and hold hands as openly as boy-girl couples do. Would there be less violence in schools? And would more students stay in school until they graduate? Wouldn't the world be better as a result because there would be more, better educated people running things?

Because it is still an act that not every one accepts. Including me. I am a Christan, and consider it a sin. I argue this with many of my friends and some family. I do not want my children to see this, and think that it is acceptable behavior. Nor do I want them to see heterosexual couples making out in public space either. People should consider others when they are engaged in public displays of affection. Holding hands and a peck on the cheek is one thing, tonsil hockey is another.

Check the local bi-laws.

He may be violating your human rights.

If PDA is acceptable in his establishment that gay or bi-couples should by law be granted the same courtesy.

I would however not want to patronize such a narrow minded man.

If you have an option drink elsewhere, or stage a protest.

but they can;just in a private business;the owner sets the rules not the manager;find an better hang out spot or spots; your hangout spot can do what it wants;as long as the spot stays within the law; so go change the law;or you and your friends hangout with the owners kin;if they be bi or gay;talk with someone that knows the law and the word;discriminates; i am bi myself and a white male;have a nice day. end.

That's odd, I've never heard of someone being so rude! If he has those rules, I would ask to see it on paper. That's not fair but some people are just mean. I hate seeing PDA when it's too much. Like at school, there are teens in the hallway all over each other, it's gross. No wonder half my school is pregnant. lol I would change my hangout spot, but you shouldn't have to. Do whatever you want but stay level headed. Don't call him stupid, even though he is.

I'm afraid that the owner has a right to determine what goes on within his establishment.
Having said that, he, like many other people, is probably prejudiced against same sex couples.
I am sorry if you find the sight of 'straight' couples kissing, offensive, if it is just because you can't kiss your partner there, then that is understandable.
Why should you patronize the establishment of someone who sees you as being inferior to the 'straight' couples?
Find somewhere where you will be appreciated.

It is on that specific hang-out only, not the general state of things.

Of course, the owner decides what goes on in his establishment.

If it is yours, you can just declare that you find PDA for straight couples offensive and that it's only okay for gay couples. You call the shots also.

I think to see ppl holding hands is cute, a peck on cheek is ok, deep throat sloppy sucking on ears and grabbing a**es I don't whether gay or not. But for a place to want to serve the public that is wrong. You might as well have to enter the back door and sit in the fags only section. Personally, I'm affectionate in public but respectful to my surroundings, but for someone to say I can't because I'm gay, they can kiss my a** as they kick me out. I like pissin off the man!!!!

I don't think it's cool for any couple to be all over each other in public. But if straights are allowed so should everyone else. EQUAL RIGHTS. Their not just for straight folk.
