I know this doesn't apply to all Indians or all Pakistanis, and many don't act on it, but I've noticed that if you ask a Pakistani about it they are usually somewhat hostile towards Indians and vice versa. Does this hostility go back to British rule and the partition, or does it go back farther than that. Religion, nationality and languages aside, aren't they the same or at least very closely related?

Sorry if this offends anyone. It's just something very subtle that I've noticed.

I am Hispanic and I feel that everyone has the right to be treated with dignity. Some of my favorite historical figures are Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Oskar Schindler, and so on. I think its not fair that we all get painted with the same brush. Being Hispanic myself, there are many Hispanics that I can't stand, yet there are many that I care about. It all boils down to good versus evil and you will find that in every culture.

first of all, I am bisexual. I love men and I love women. I find that in many religions, homosexuality is forbidden. In Christianity, the bible specifically says that homosexuality is wrong. In islam, homosexuality is taboo. And mainly I find that people do not tend to accept people of different sexual orientation.
I do know that the younger generation is much more open to different sexual preferances than before. Even so, their parents and grandparents are just as prejudiced.
I just want to understand the thought behind the hate crimes and discrimination against homo/bisexuals in our society. It's not like we chose to be gay. It's not like we enjoy the negative attention we get.
What do you think about the role of homosexuals in society today?

When I logged on and came to this section, that is the first thing I noticed. Perhaps Yahoo was surprised at the number of seniors who surf the net. Do you think it is a welcome move? Or should Seniors include HS seniors as well?

Ok so I dress in dark jeans and dark colors (grays, black, plums, olives) with neat designs with lots of jewlry. I listen to metal, rock, and country, but I also like philosophy, art, psychology, and all sorts of literature. Why do people have label me punk or a poser because my life doesn't revolve around just music or being 'different'? Why do we have to label anyone unless they're really trying to be somebody else? Can't we all just have are own style?

My friend who is black says blonde especially platinum blonde doesn't look good on non white women because asians, blacks, and hispanics mostly have dark hair and eyes so noone is going to believe it's natural.I have to agree it wouldn't even look good on me and i'm sicilian but i seen a girl who was asian with ultra bonde hair and she looked horrible serena williams is a horrible blonde also.one of my friends who is cuban went blonde she immediately went back to dark brown cause she looked bad.I know it's a free country but what's the point of bleaching your hair when noone is going to believe it's natural.

Many Churches support gay rights and welcome openly gay, lesbian, or bisexual individuals and couples into their congregations. Many also ordain openly GLBT persons to serve as pastors. And many do not.

What has been the response of your church and yourself to this summer's Gay Pride Festivals?

Help! I have a friend who's birthday is July 4th. A close, but new friend, you know?
I've known him allmost a year. We went on a few dates, but aren't really dating. He's interested and I want to just be friends. We hang out with mutual friends a lot.

So, I need your help! Nothing too personal, but more than a generic cologne, gift card or such. He has everything related to his varied interests.
Nice wine seems impersonal and we drink that often, so it doesn't seem unique.
I would love to think of something really unusual and different.

He loves music but has any cd you can think of. He loves travel and especially Australia where he lived a while. He has tons of things from there; books, clothing, etc. I can't think of something related to there though that would be great.

He's not wealthy, but loves culture; art, music, books. He's a good photographer, but has all that stuff. Very smart, very funny. I'd like to buy but also make a little something. Help!!

I was molested by my now step dad...

When I was molested at 14 at the beach by a man i thought i could trust because he was my mama's (at the time) boyfriend I was there with his step daughter, I told my mama later on that night and she didn't believe me and said that I was just trying to get attention, I became so depressed and in denial that i wanted to kill myself, ugh Lord help me! Then on Feb. 11 on my little sister's bday he molested my again this time more sick wierd n twisted and he said he did this because i'm gay, which makes no sense... I told my teacher and then who later told my conselor who later told the child protective services who later told the police and my mama blamed all of this on ME the victim! He molested me over and over again and i never told my mama until one day in church I announced it to everbody! i felt relieved in a way BUT then my mama married his azz after he molested me several times and still til this day she doesn't believe me, WAT SHOULD I DO?
