ok. let's clear it up. Pedophilia is an "age" thing. Homosexuality is a "gender" thing. Going after young people is an "age" thing NOT A "gay" thing. The people that do this would go after anyone in the age group. Priests are generally closer to alter boys (since girls have just recently been allowed in some churches). But it doesn't have anything to do with the gender, it's attacking innocence. Absolutely not the same thing.

Two main reasons really. The first is that "Oh my gosh, it's a man of the clothe(i.e. a christian priest) doing and having committed an immoral act against another person". Second, the media and the world are having a hissy fit over what exactly the whole entire "religious groups of the world" are going to do about it and who'll basically screw up next. It very much so is true that some catholic priests are homosexually inclined. That does not mean that all of them are though.

If you get turned on by little boys and you just can't cant get it up for a woman, because you find that they are all too large, too old and the wrong gender, then you can become a priest. You take a vow of celibacy and people think you are great, even though you are doing it because if you had sex, you would be commiting rape. Priests form relationships with cute boys, and sometimes the temptation overcomes them.

Yes, some priests are indeed gay. But that's not the reason some priests prey upon children. Some priests prey upon children because they're pedophiles. And the great majority of pedophiles self-identify as heterosexual, not homosexual.

Because they do.
They aren't gay (well, probably the majority aren't, there will always be gay people in every profession), they are just supposed to remain celibate. But having sexual feelings and wanting to have sex are a natural part of being humans (the very basis of urges is reproduction - I didn't say the only reason, it's instinct.) and the closest people are little boys.

i wouldnt say gay. sex offenders that happen to be preists sometimes choose the field because little kids come to church with their parents and parents trust to leave their kids with people from the church.

also its a good facade. you can say you are a member of a church to lead people on to thinking youre moral... being a preist is a better cover up for a secret life.
