Well, you might say a loner is someone who is...well, alone alot. Like for example, lets say a new kid comes into town and goes to school with people he doesnt know. And lets also add that this kid is picked on everybody, so he has no friends and spends his time alone at lunch....he's a typical kid, isnt goth, and just...well, ok. When the words "gothic person" come into my mind, i think of a person who wears black or dark clothing, as well as wwears dark maekup. Goths can be loners, and goths can be social butterflies! Goths and loners are different

I don't think you look like a goth being alone, perhaps more of an emo, though I do not know how you look like.
Alone is alone, you prefer it that way. Goths tend to be alone but they, well, don't look depressed and seem to be pondering about something, usually questions that are out of the box. Loners on the other hand just don't like human contact :) Goths don't mind people around them but pssh, three's a crowd.

The truth is if you dress really dark people are going to think you're goth or punk or emo whether you are or you aren't. People stereotype. What sets goths apart from others in society is their interest in the darker parts of life. They don't turn away from subjects like carnal delight, mass murder, and sociopaths. Instead those darker aspects of life interest them. This also often gets incorporated into other aspects of their life, from their selection of music to their clothing. If that fits you, you may just be goth. If not, just tell people the difference if they ask.

being goth is not because you're alone all the time or prefer to be. it's kinda like being Emo. it's not exactly a way of life. it's something you CHOOSE to be.

Doesn't Goth include dyed jet black hair, white make up, black lipstick, and black finger nails?
A few face piercings would confirm the image.
I like dark clothes, that's far from Goth.
