Just go to her and tell her....

First of all, make sure to set aside some time, maybe after the two of you have spent some time together or something. Be prepared for her to be emotional; even if parents ultimately accept and support you, sometimes they get overwhelmed when they find out. After you tell her, if she reacts badly, give her a little space and make sure you have some people set aside who know and are ready to comfort you while she comes to terms. Also, have some resources ready for her in case she needs some help or advice on how to support you, like Parents and Friends of GLBT. It can give them somewhere to go and find people who are going through the same thing they are, much like we have places where we can go for advice. Good luck sweetie!

tell her truthfully, without skirting around the basics. You can't keep a humongous secret like that from your mom, so don't even try. how would you invite her to your lesbian wedding? anyways, "unconditional love" does not always come out the victor in such situations, so be prepared to lose your mothers blessing.
