I know this doesn't apply to all Indians or all Pakistanis, and many don't act on it, but I've noticed that if you ask a Pakistani about it they are usually somewhat hostile towards Indians and vice versa. Does this hostility go back to British rule and the partition, or does it go back farther than that. Religion, nationality and languages aside, aren't they the same or at least very closely related?
Sorry if this offends anyone. It's just something very subtle that I've noticed.

Like I said, when it comes to how they act, there usually isn't any racism or hostility or any difference when Pakistanis interact with Indians (and vice versa), but my fiancé is Pakistani and sometimes he or his friends or family will make little comments that make it obvious that they're some hostility there.
And not to be unfair, but I have noticed this sentiment more amongst the Pakistanis than the Indians.

I'd also like to note that I have noticed that in the US or any country outside of South Asia, Pakistanis and Indians freely mix as friends. But there still seems to be that hostility towards the country and the history there.
