week:"So i went to my mandarin class which is an advanced conversational class..this morning and sat in class for 4 hours and couldn't understand anything. My mandarin teacher speaks very little english and I was lost..It was like I was listening to a language that I had never heard before;;I've been studying mandarin for years....etc,etc,etc..Has this happen to anyone trying to learn a foreign language..It's like a part of my brain wouldn't turn on?"
I received this answer form IZZY..which I thought was so funny that I almost fell off my chair laughing "....I have an friend who grew up with his Russian Grandmother who spoke only Russian to him. Some years after she passed away, he went on a trip there, you know to connect with his roots, but no one could understand a thing that he was saying.Upon his return, troubled, his asked is Aunt:"was my Granny really Russian?" Yes, she was, but no one could understand her because she had no teeth!"

There is this guy that lives really close by, the past year I have kind of been picking on him, because he is gay. I recently realised I have fallen in love with him! I hate myself now. How could I let myself fall in love?!

There's been a number of studies on identical twins and if one is gay then the chances of the other being gay is around 50%. I know this is higher than the normal averages, but if the genes are responsible for homosexuality then it has to be 100% and nothing else. Don't these scientific studies show that homosexuality is due to a combination of genetics and responses to certain trigger events in their lives? So no one can really say they are "born" gay. They can only say that they have a genetic predisposition toward homosexuality. What do you think?

Is it cuz she's African and I'm not African American like the other employees? What the hell? Why does she play favorites like that? Every time I try to talk to her she seems incredibly busy and like she has no time for me. Then the other people can talk to her like nothing the only time we have interaction is when theres a meeting and then she's still too busy. I don't ask for anything but positivity. It makes me want to get a different job.

Political correctness is at it again, the word that you're supposed to use now is "complexion". Personally, I think the word sounds a lot more correct than color and if the word color offends some people, why not use the word complexion.

Ex: The color of someone's skin. Instead of that you're supposed to say: The complexion of someone's skin.

hi, I'm a guy and my boyfriend left me, i knew since the beginning he was not totally gay, that he'd decided to stay with me just because we were good friends and i helped him a lot with his drug and alcohol addiction..I'm a Krishna ,I don't drink and I don't smoke and I inspired him to practice yoga and spirituality and he was making huge progress on his path....but he left me days ago..said he found a girl and he wanted to get married and have kids. It wrenched my heart but i let him go, with my heart painfully broken and because i knew his orientation and desires before. I love this guy, he's Russian and tough, and after God, he was the one who most gave me happiness in my life..we used to walk along the beach, late at night and i used to be with him when his impulses to drugs would make him get crazy...the thing is (and I didn't know that) is that this girl he's now hanging out with is much older and is a junkie, smokes pot and all the stuff and now he's doing all the same again...

Recently I've notice that when people on Yahoo Answers in the GLBT ask or answers a question; and uses the word (term) G0YZ; a particular pack of wolves inundate them with hate messages; and or thumbs down (even unrelated questions)? Why can't we all get along and share our experience, regardless rather or not we agree? If we don't like the Christians bashing those in this group, why show hypocrisy by doing it to others? Isn’t it just obvious or micavillian?

Everyone nowadays says it is wrong to hate. So is it wrong to hate those who hate? Or should you just hate hate itself? If you actually are a hater is it wrong to hate yourself? Should you just not hate people but hate the part of people's brains that make them hate? What if you just hate things?

I need some advice real bad...I have a secret that I have been keeping from my family for a long time now (although I'm only 18)...I am a lesbian. I don't know how to go about telling my mother without hurting her and going against her beliefs (she's christian). I am so confused...I don't know what to feel anymore, whether I should just forget about how I feel and not tell her anything so she won't be hurt by my secret, or if I should tell her and risk our close relationship (she's like my best friend!). I am so depressed and I just don't know what to do...I need help really bad :(

My belief is that no one can be a color. I have never seen a pitch black person or pure white. Or red or yellow. Colors had a meaning before they were attributed to people. This is my opinion. I'd like to hear from my fellow "colors".

Why is it that black american teens listen and watch things about drugs, violence, girls and money? These things happen everyday! When your entire life is a bad soap opera, why do you want to see it on TV? Only mature answers, please. And keep in mind that I am black, and thus not racist.

Hi all,

Here's my little problem. I don't look gay, I don't dress gay, and I don't talk gay. It's not very obvious to other people that I'm gay.

A friend of mine pointed out that it's going to be difficult to meet somebody this way. He's just not going to recognise that I'm gay.

What can I do to make other gay people know?

I don't want to make it all too obvious though. I have to wear a uniform to work, and it's a pretty conservative environment.

Thanks!

If you're gonna be worm chow, why not take a chance on cryonics possibly succeeding in advancing a technology that might revive you in the future at some time. Doesn't a Star Trek tomorrow appeal? Investment options exist to provide funds in that future. And don't use the "we might wake up as slaves or food for future alien cannibals" cop-out, because you know that's bs. Perhaps most athiest are posers that deep down believe in some supernatural aspect to the universe. Comments?
