I started school down south during the days of segregation. We integrated when I was in the fourth grade. I can't speak for the older kids, but we were all still young. We just had more kids to play with on the playground. That really makes it sound simple. There were a few problems, but nothing that didn't exist in school during segregation. There will always be groups of people who hang together and try to make someone else feel inferior. That happens between people of the same race as well as between different races. There will always be some people who are racist and some who aren't. You get a pretty good mix of all personality types in school, segregated or not.

Generally its peoples natural behavior to want to be among their own and theres nothing wrong with this. Observe any prison lunchroom setting, or kids at a diverse school: generally like groups hang together.

The exception would be when theres only 1-5% blacks they then intermingle quite well, but if its 10%+ they tend to self-segregate. Whites self-segregate as well, but moreso along cliques in school.

Integration has never really been much of a problem with me, however--those blacks I am forced to interact with via work are generally the educated ones.

i live in a multi racial country. it's easy for me to intergrate with other races if we can understand each other regardless their cultural backgrounds. sometimes, i rather being with my friends from other races to break out from the stereotype mindset (for example ; that as a Chinese must stay among Chinese). actually, we are afraid and fear of those that we don't know, so get to know other races and you will find that it's easier to intergrate if you know and understand those who aren't from your race!

Incredibly easy. I love diversity and hearing other people's opinions. Makes me feel educated. :D

I love the whole human race. It's just individual people that annoy me.
