If you're gonna be worm chow, why not take a chance on cryonics possibly succeeding in advancing a technology that might revive you in the future at some time. Doesn't a Star Trek tomorrow appeal? Investment options exist to provide funds in that future. And don't use the "we might wake up as slaves or food for future alien cannibals" cop-out, because you know that's bs. Perhaps most athiest are posers that deep down believe in some supernatural aspect to the universe. Comments?

I don't like the cold and I don't like confined spaces so why would I have myself frozen in a confined space? Besides, it would be a burden on my next of kin. I would be dead, but not really, how then can people come to terms with the fact that you're not there anymore?

I'm not greedy.
I will take my fill of this life then be happy to provide worm fodder and the space I free up may be indeed filled by someone else, who could make positive changes in this world instead of dreaming of something ridiculous (I hope they're not some religious nut, because I will defy the boundaries of sense and reason to come back and haunt the buggers). I hope I can also make a little difference in the world before I go so that those who follow me don't have to clear up after me...

I think when I am old and grey I would have had enough of this life. Why would I want to continue on living, sometimes on lifetime is enough before things just get too boring. Besides, life comes and goes, that is a fact I will have to face some time or another just like you and everyone else. The only difference is that in your mind you think that you will go somewhere else, I on the other hand know that aint going to happen.

if i was going to be cryonically frozen it wouldnt be when im old and crusty with some chance of a miracle cure to living a long life. i would want to be frozen now, im still young enough to have a decent chance at a life in the future when and if revived. i believe that you are thinking of agnostics when you speak of believing in some supernatural aspect of the universe, as thats exactly what agnostics are.

I side with notzen on this one. Also, atheists are smart enough to know not eveyone will live forever. Suppose if the 6 billions people on the world today could not die, nor could their babies, nor the grandchildren and so on.. This would become a horrible place. I suppose it's what the theists refer to when they speak of the Apocalypse, when the dead walk the earth.
