the spelling NIGER means Black or Dark, in translation. I think that is what your are referring to here. No different that saying they are BLACK here in America in English. Now, keep in mind the the spelling with 2 G's is a slang word, but not Niger. Completely different.

Niger is a West African country. The word Niger is NOT a derragatory term. It becomes offensive when it is spelled with two g's. Niger is pronounced nee-ZHER.

The racial term "******" came from the term "Niger" which refered to Nigeria in Africa. It started out as a reference to the area many black people migrated from, or in the case of slavery, were taken from.

The latin word for black is niger or nigus. That's all it means. We humans demeaned the "N" word out of our usual bigotry & hatred. Alas!
