There is this guy that lives really close by, the past year I have kind of been picking on him, because he is gay. I recently realised I have fallen in love with him! I hate myself now. How could I let myself fall in love?!

dont be so shallow....nobody "lets" themselves fall in love. It just happens. Let this guy know how you feel and maybe apoligize if its neccesary for the "picking" you have done in the past.

Alex don't hate yourself, I can imagine this would be very difficult. People have said it, but this must be a lesson to you...do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
THAT SAID...you feel bad enough and if you are genuine, this is clear. You should DEFINATELY appologise to the guy, try and be friends first. Don't rush things because it will not go in your favour. I hope things work out for you. Good luck bud! But most of all, be sure of yourself, be true to yourself and BE HAPPY

You can't fight the feeling. You probably have been attracted to him all along and you've been attacking him for your attraction towards him. It's time to start being nicer to him now, apologize and accept the fact that you're either gay or bisexual. You never know he might end up liking you once you treat him nicer. Find other ways to be closer to him because I know thats what you truly want.

You can't help your feelings. Have you ever sat down and talked to the guy. Not nescessarily about being gay, but just about normal stuff like music ect. I think that if you do you'll be suprised. Let us know what happens.

Well, you might be discontent with my answer but...
It's just because we are fabulous!
We have excellent manners..., wonderful smile, tremendous sense of humour, marvelous gestures, magnificent deportment, great attitude toward life, remarkable tolerance, extraordinary understanding, amazing ability to deal with problems, fantastic way to fall in love, and outstanding sensibility!

I just don't know which one of these made you fall in love but... dear, go for it!

If this is fantasy, you need to get a life!
If it isn't you have a cheek to post a question like that! Maybe if we are lucky you might just get a little taste of what homophobia feels like and then you will know what you put him through!

Fantasy I hope!

This is toooooo wonderful. Talk about just desserts! Perhaps you can suffer in your angst for awhile, thinking about all the pain you have caused him....I certainly hope you wallow in your misery. Sorry but no sympathy here. And you should hate yourself..not for being in love with a guy, but for being a homophobe! yes, just desserts...tooooo wonderful

Hey, it's like that in elementary school... the one kid you pick on is the one you like right? Go up to him, tell him you're sorry, and play nice

It sounds like you've been in denial for years and making fun of him was a defense mechanism you used to hold back the truth from yourself.
