Is it cuz she's African and I'm not African American like the other employees? What the hell? Why does she play favorites like that? Every time I try to talk to her she seems incredibly busy and like she has no time for me. Then the other people can talk to her like nothing the only time we have interaction is when theres a meeting and then she's still too busy. I don't ask for anything but positivity. It makes me want to get a different job.

I can understand the frustration. I worked in a culturally dominated business and was practically the only whitey. Of course there's clicks but the more you let yourself get bothered by it (because, even if you don't think so, people know you are bothered) the more unattractive you are to them. My feeling is that it's not a race issue, maybe you are too anxious and trying too hard to fit in. If this is true, relax, be sure of yourself and most important smile and be friendly. Hope this helps. Take care!!

Ok so i can totally relate to you! I had a teacher in school. It happened to be a female teacher of an african american descent. Not only was she short and rude to the white students, she was also sexist in the way that she did not tolerate guys the same as girls. She was very rude and never seemed to have time if you asked her a question. One time my friend asked to stay after school to finish her project. (she was the teacher of a home ec class and my friend was making a dress which took a little longer then the other students). I might add she was white, not that it should matter but in this case it does. The teacher said no because "you should of had it done in class. I do not accept students coming after school for a task they should of completed in school." those were her exact words. i remember it like it was yesterday. About a month later we had another project to do. Since this teacher was so close with the black females in our class, they talked most of the period. This one girl who did not complete her work because she was talking asked if she could stay after. The teacher said "of course".
I couldnt believe that she said that after the comment she made weeks before. I do not know why people are like this but this is life. In your case however, theres a possibility of her getting more comfortable around you. Be friendly and patient. Some people, no matter race, color, etc., do not open up to people as quickly as others.
Good luck

Thats a tough one, as a boss I know some people just rub me the wrong way. Why not send her a little letter or note and ask her if there is an issue you are not familiar with. Otherwise, I would look for another job.

"You people are always ready to play the race card! It's all in your mind! It must be something you've done, or the way your hair looks!"

Just kidding... now you know how we feel.

The more unprofessional a boss is, the more they play favorites. I hope things turn out at your job but if its what you think it is; it won't.
